Re: The puppet love doll has been shipped - the loosest join

I can kind of see the appeal of this. Stiff limbs could be a bit unrealistic for some poses, but she would need to be very light.

Re: Help! Very stiff (maybe seized leg) Any solutions?

Dang man, sorry about this. Not a glamour shot obviously but the doll looks awesome. Thanks! She sure looks awesome! She gonna have to go back in the box next couple days, got family coming over. After that I’m hoping SDC can reply with a solution. My guess is that the nut itself tightened as I was...

Re: why she began to melt.?

I also avoid any stockings that have the "Stay Up" features at the tops of the stockings.. I was reading the package of one and it said it included "Silicone Strips" around the tops of the stockings to help them from not slipping down the legs.. This is fine for Silicone dolls b...

Re: why she began to melt.?

It is unlikely grease had anything to do with this A bad batch of TPE would seem to be the culprit :) The OP had it start where the wig/hat was seated. That tells me it is a reaction. TPE being the sponge that it is would likely have a starting point of "infection" that would slowly corru...

Re: why she began to melt.?

If the body oil in the doll from the factory is acting as a medium for the mechanical grease from the joints to transfer into the TPE, then the low oil TPE materials we see advertised in more high end dolls might actually be of a higher quality and less likely to crumble from the joint oils. Then th...

Re: why she began to melt.?

I have to agree with john1972 and Mr Franz on this. As I was reading over this thread I could not help but notice somethings that would not correspond with a bad batch or getting old hypotheses. In my mind, when I see the pics I think some other liquor or substance is slowly and gradually seeping i...

Pan Pastels

Inspired by https://dollforum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=229&t=137425 I decided to try out the closest material I had on an old TPE hip and found that Pan Pastels have some amazingly similar properties with less effort. I attempted 6 tests total.. Unheated Resistance to Water: Holds up very well,...

This is exactly what I needed to learn. Thank you so much for doing the work on this! Now I just need to figure out the right heat so I don't ruin my new doll right away.

Re: 3M Tape Primer 94, A cautionary tale.

A warning to all. I have a knock-off 158cm TPE blue elf doll (don't judge me, it was before I discovered TDM) that got a few injuries. I cut some TPE from her neck and softened it with 3M Tape Primer 94. In the small tear (like a fingernail gouge) the 94 by itself worked great. When I used the soft...

Re: question about better sculpts shape

I 3D printed the mold itself for a couple toys, used zbrush to do a bool into a mold box. My advice.. Don't bother smoothing out the print lines, like they actually help texture the silicone if you plan to use something like a platinum cure ecoflex. Unless you have some really good skills and can go...

Re: Vsdoll.com Scam or legit ?

Sorry but everything looks like a scam! The prices are way too low. And it is impossible to choose different sizes of dolls from the same photo if it is an original branded doll. :lying: Cheers! :glou: Vsdoll.jpg Oh man.. That doesn't look good. That 50% cancelation is not great eithe...

Re: Hopefully the last time we have to do this. Baby oil dam

Could it have actually been the black machine oil on the joint that damaged it and not the baby oil? Still hear countless old timers saying baby oil is fine.
