Matt also did an interview at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) last month that ended up being a pretty lengthy conversation with Engadget that specifically covered the topic of AI and integrating robotics into his dolls in the coming years. This video may have been posted before on the forum, but it's still interesting and Matt is definitely taking this new venture seriously. He's already working on a second version for 2016 and hopes to have it completed by year end.

Matt is working with David Hanson and his team which I think is the right people for the job to get the Realbotix company off in the right direction. Here's a great article about the company and an interview with the new CEO Jong Lee.

As neat as all this seems, I'm afraid Matt has a long, long way to go on this.
Even with the likes of the Geminoid DK, it still isn't quite there yet.

The little robot at the end costs 16 grand. Kinda cute.

I imagine that this is about 10-15 years from the early versions being made effective and affordable. At least, we have an entrepreneur like Matt leading the charge.

love watching the progress in ai and robotics. i think the motors and achieving smooth, believeable movement is the biggest challenge. perhaps to achieve this we must develop some other tech not motors, but synthetic muscle fibers that contract and release based on electrical input. but for now my favorite part in the video ...

interesting video - most notably the reporter didn't seem too intimidated by those perfect bodies all around her.
For the AI there is still a long way to go - speech recognition "Hello John Harmony"

but the best was the moving eyes. That made Harmony so much alive. interesting times lie ahead.
