All TPE dolls right now are made in Asia. If RD was to produce a TPE line, y'all would be the only Americans doing so, right? Seems like a selling point to me, because it would be much more convenient and safe. No customs to deal with, not many stops during shipping.

Cheap dolls surely would be marketable in USA. Because cheap dolls quality would be same than Asian dolls, so question: who in other countries buy doll from USA.
Expensive high quality dolls must buy from USA (them get not other place).

Price is a big factor, especially here in California, where customers usually have to pay both shipping and state tax. That quickly gets prohibitively expensive when added to an already pricey item. Maybe a California "home state discount" could be offered for dolls shipped to CA to make Abyss more competitive here?

It'd also be great if Abyss came out with a really nicely proportioned but smaller doll. Something like the body of a YL148 but not made of TPE. The Boy Toy Body 4 is kinda there, but is about $2K too expensive. There must be some way to protect Abyss' margins while competing with the TPE companies. The Realdoll Classic is very interesting, but I worry about softness with no gel implants and while the price is tempting, it's still maybe ~$1K too high to be a no-brainer.

Alas, maybe there is no way to square this circle. Abyss really do make the best dolls in the industry, by far, but it's stuck in a purely aspirational, Mercedes price range for most.

Other things that would be nice:

- Asian faces competitive with Orient/4woods
- Molded/lockable shipping/storage cartons for smaller dolls (and smaller dolls to go in them lol!) The current wooden crates are practical for shipping, but impractical for most apartments.
- A great, beautiful, fantasy/elf head that has Arwen and not Yoda ears.
- Self-heating has been asked for a million times before, but here is a million-and-one
- RD2 head(s) with closing eyes

Finally, interest-free financing for 18+ months. Having to come up with a check for $7K+ is sheer madness for most people. It simply can't be done for any reason. Finding $50-$100 a week extra, on the other hand, becomes something doable.

So, do those things and it's a new ballgame. Easy, right?

Yeah, it' be interesting to see if Abyss could make a TPE doll that doesn't suck. I'm not sure anyone can, because TPE kinda sucks full stop. It'd be a shame to lose all of Matt's fine detail work to such a subpar material, but if we're talking about cheap Abyss dolls, there are worse ideas around...

I would buy a Realdoll or Boytoy tomorrow if there was an actual face that I was attracted too. Its a complete turn off. There is no delicate femininity in ANY of your faces. For an example of what I am talking about (and you dont have to agree or like the same) look at the faces of sanhui. Regardless of your taste you can not deny that precious feminine gaze of Adeline. im not trying to influence anyone or promote anything im just trying to compare. Since I was 18 years old I have been looking for a reason to buy a realdoll. I still dont have one.

I agree with this person's impression of Real Doll faces. Even if they were $500 I wouldn't buy one for myself.

I don't know if it is the personal erotic aesthetic of the owner or if he/she thinks Americans prefer that particular look, but the faces look like Penthouse models at best. I prefer the look of models from Oui magazine in the early 1970s. Hard to describe, but it is different. The main thing that comes to mind is jaw line. Both Penthouse and Real Doll faces (let me take another look) look way too androgynous to me, almost masculine.

Well, this is pretty subjective, but you are likely onto something. Others seemed to me like straight knockoffs of various celebs (Jenny McCarthy, Meghan Fox, Sandra Bullock). Many were simply “meh”.

Over the last few years I think many have been quite good (Natalie, Quinn, Renee) and a couple amazing (Olivia, Tanya). I do agree that many RD faces are runway model types, and maybe it’s a matter of all coming from a single sculptor, who has his own taste and style that a potential customer may or may not resonate with.

I would say that I can understand people who recognize that faces from Sanhui, Orient, and some 4woods are often easier to fall in love with, are more sweet and less overtly sexy. Realdolls seem primarily built for fucking, and only secondarily (or even incidentally) for loving.

Maybe Abyss could try 3D-scanning some faces, to break out of the box of Matt’s personal style and taste. Of course, if Matt picks the models that get scanned...

You'd be surprised how many people are turned off by that. Might be for "once in a while" .. but not for "everyday". Doll owners are surprisingly well balanced. Yes sexual attraction is important. But outside of porn, attraction doesn't usually start sexually.

This is a difficult concept to grasp. But its critical.

I'd love to get a RD .. and I wouldn't mind paying the $$ for exactly what I wanted in an American made product from a company with great customer service. But when shopping, I simply couldn't find a doll (or doll look) that I connected with. Hopefully next time!

I would've probably bought either Realdoll 1 or a BT next year but I wasn't happy about how you are handling the AI app development in general.

As my first Abyss experience, it hasn't left me with the most positive first impression. Though the quality of your dolls themselves is phenomenal.

Oh and I also agree about the faces. Like others have said here, maybe more variety there would be great in that regard.

Offer a doll that is
- less than 148cm
- less than 60 lbs
- less than $2500
