How many pieces is it assembled from?
Would you say the location is a happy medium between V & A entry?
Thanks RK! :)
It's 3 pieces - 2 halves for the front and a one piece extension hub.
The front parts with the flange are printed horizontal for strength and to get the best print quality on the flanges.
The rear hub is printed vertically as a ring to provide strength in the other direction and tie it all together.
Then it's all welded together with an ABS/acetone slurry.

You are correct with the location - I would call it a "universal" location, somewhere between the two.
She's mainly going to be a "from the rear" girl so the location is geared towards that.

Here is the first part of the installation for Eva.
I won't go into a lengthy description since I've already covered that here: http://dollforum.com/forum/viewtopic.ph ... 67#p664467

1. Trace cutout line using template.
2. Drill 1/8" diameter holes close together inside cutout line.
3. "Connect the dots" to make rough cutout.
4. Use rotary file bit to finish opening to the cutout line.

Looking good! The flange has an interesting shape on this one! I'm sure you will blend it perfectly! Now you just need to figure out the legs

Hey FG thanks! :)
Eva's shape is a little more asymmetrical. Her right leg is in closer than the left so it creates an interesting form with the new adapter shape.
I've got the basic idea for the legs, just need to do some test prints to make sure it will work.

could the leg joints be used in the arms if they were scaled down? or do they utilize preexisting parts from the legs, Thinking of making the arms removeable at mid bicep so there's always a decent amount of arm on the torso, and the shoulder joints could be filled smooth

Hey FG, that's an interesting idea for the arms. I'll have to take a look at that.
I could indeed use the same joint type with the 1" diameter pin/magnet and the socket. I could scan her arms and make joint inserts to fit.
That would allow her arms to move laterally like a bird flapping its wings but would not allow the arms to rotate at the shoulder. Maybe that's OK.
That would give her the arm caps so to speak for torso mode, although it may give an amputated look which I'm not sure I would care for. Definitely an idea worth looking at though.

Thanks!

True may look amputated, just throwing Ideas out there, so far this one seems to have the most potential for mods...

Thanks Glascia!
She definitely a pretty lady. I'm growing to like her more every day. :)

Continuing with the installation...

5. Sand edge of opening with 60 grit sandpaper
6. Drill 1/16" pilot holes using the guide holes in adapter

Unit epoxied in place and screw holes filled. It always looks pretty rough at this stage.
It will look much different when finished and painted to match.

I really need to get the paste version of this product. It's great stuff but just a little too stiff to get knifed out easily.
I mixed up a little too much so I used the remainder to make some nipples for Fiona... :)

Just received an adapter print from Mannequin Fan and must say it is of the highest quality and is very strong, cannot wait to install this in a Mannequin! Just top notch engineering all around!

She's still unfinished, the adapter is not painted yet, but I think this is going to be the nicest looking installation yet.
I'm really liking the new adapter shape.
This torso is so much fun to play with - so light and just the right size!

:)
