Fair enough. Kudos to Pumu Uma's comments in the article. I also totally agree with Coleridge's statement about the cost of these dolls. If you could get them for $10, EVERY man on the planet would have 10 of them, and they'd be everywhere.

coleridge wrote:Imagine, for a moment, a world in which high quality sex dolls cost £10 / $10 / €10 each. Every single man would have one, and a large proportion of men in relationships would have one hidden somewhere! It really is as simple as that - they'd be as commonplace as porn viewing currently is.
If a high quality sex doll cost $500 in the US / Europe / Australia / Japan most men would own them. In the rest of the world most men don't need them at any price  Except maybe China.

That's why according to this article http://sexuality.about.com/od/vibrators ... or_use.htm just under 50 percent of women polled use a vibrator and that was in 2009 when it was still slightly taboo. IO wonder what the percentage would be today.

Well that's a much more sensitive viewpoint than the one I found and posted about "The 30 most disturbing Internet Forums"

We were at number 19 in the Disturbed stakes.

The Comment says and I quote
"Okay, it's a website dedicated to lonely old men posing with/ creating adventures for their plastic, life-sized dolls. Because companionship is hard to find, and sometimes you need to cut your losses, I guess. But here's the thing: The users actually maintain seperate posting accounts FOR THEIR DOLLS."

Those are just the ones admitting to it. The actual percentage is probably MUCH higher.

Great work Jack and Vice. Your fairness in portrayal of "doll enthusiasts" is appreciated.

As with anything in life that is not considered to be of the 'norm', it takes a lot of education to those whom may be ignorant (not stupid, ignorance is NOT KNOWING). Once people are given the FACTS, prejudice seems to fade and acceptance prevails. It takes articles like this to breech the subject and get a conversation started.

Thumbs up!

For me, dolls are an extension of my love of art and toys, primarily. They are great companions and will constantly get better as technology advances. I would like to see a future where, like personal vibrators, dolls, and ona holes, men and women use advanced robotic dolls before real relationships to sort out how they are about the whole subject of companionship and intercourse. Maybe even choosing robot over flesh, or no relationships at all, based on the experience.

My wife just brushed my dolls wigs yesterday and likes to tidy them up from time to time. I talk to them and they are great for cuddling. She has her own and I am getting another, soon, so they aren't just for lonely men (although I get lonely even with a wife and kids).

This was a very fun article that puts it into a positive light rather than most information about the taboo subject.

Thanks to you for not judging us too harshly.

Case in point.

My wife, the sexless wonder, has two dildos, one of which she *thinks* I still don't know about.

This Is a great article for people on the outside looking in.

For me it's more of a choice to have a doll. My first large doll that I was attracted to was a walker doll, she had small tits and an ass on her. I have been or traveled any where without a doll of some sort.

Our reasons for loving, owning, possesing dolls all vary. Some people want a more sexual interaction with our dolls, ssome want companionship/and sex, others just companionship. I have dolls for every reason I can think of.

Either way we can agree. Dolls have captivated our interest, and curiosity as a culture . For some of us they have stolen our hearts!I remember finding this board in 2012 after watching "lars and the real girl" and discovering about realdolls.
The empty orchestra still plays.
Bored, certified "plastic" surgeon. Serving the masses.
Dolls i have worked on. Real doll ,JM doll, teddybabes,Anime fabric doll,wm doll, d.s dolls, Diao shi, extravaganza air dolls, 1st pc, and candy8teen dolls.

Need work done? Feel free to send me a note.

RainLover wrote:My only quibble is this one quote:
Jack Callil for VICE wrote:Sex dolls are realistically never going to be viewed as a totally acceptable form of sexual and emotional expression, and enthusiasts do accept this.
After everything that's happened in the world in just the last 50 years in terms of civil rights and changing attitudes about sex and relationships, I'd have thought the one thing everyone should have learned by now is, to quote James Bond, "Never say never again."
This is what I keep saying. :)

I don't view preferring dolls any different than any other sexual preference. It seems to me that so many men and women could benefit from owning a doll, either for companionship, or to satiate a strong libido. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if love dolls become mainstream, as mainstream as owning a car, or a PC. And I for one hope it does.

The other demographic not mentioned in the article are the guys like me who a very socially capable, and have dated lots of women, but finally choose to avoid all the bullshit that goes along with being "normal".
