I remember when I was a kid and I saw Matt on HBO showing off his 90s Realdolls. Back than Matt was blond and looked like he was in his early 20's. The real dolls looked way different aswell. Realdolls didn't even have the replaceable X faces back than and they had to glue the feet and the hands to the body.

Nice little clip. I especially liked his last comment in response to objectifying women. Sure, I can obviously see how some women would perceive dolls like that upon first glance. But as Matt said, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. If anything, these dolls are a representation of female grace and beauty. As well as the inherent sexuality of the female form.

Of course most men buy them primarily as sex objects. But from the man's point of view, he is merely trying to compensate for the companionship and/or sex he has been denied in real life. While this can be seen as objectifying women, that is not really fair from the man's perspective. After all, I don't feel like dildos are objectifying men, and have no problem with a woman using one if she is lonely. Same difference here, only dolls take the fantasy further and make it as realistic as currently possible.

In short, is it not good for someone (both men & women) to try and fill a void that they have had issues filling in real life? Would it not be more akin to therapy or like a prescription for an ailment? Not everyone is so fortunate to have someone or a healthy sex life. This is merely a way to compensate for that and should be seen as a normal and healthy way to do so for those who feel they would benefit from it.

I agree totally blindwebster, with your summation about dolls. Any company that aims to take away loneliness from the world is a winner with me. Matt offers much through his company and should be applauded by pyschologists etc. I have social anxiety and co-moderate a group of people, currently. One day I will bring up the topic of loneliness although that is possibly the worst and most isolating experience and one that few of us are prepared to talk openly about.
