Yuria Type 100 is about an android dutch wife. There's a live action version of the manga, but I've not seen English subtitles for it.

Hi Rainlover, I think you can add swedish tv series "Real Humans" as the so called hubots are robot like dolls. They have shown the series in german tv a few weeks ago and the rights are sold to an english company.

This is a great thread covering the human interest in dolls/robots/synthetic humans and things of the like within the entertainment industry. It really does go to show how normal we are despite how our shallow society attempts to make this an awkward fetish or fringe interest. F'ck em. I will be watching some of these again.

Surrogates was a very good movie Yoube Bosley. I think it deserves to have a place in the list or at least an honorable mention.

And what about T-800 & T-1000, C-3PO & R2-D2, Ash & Bishop, Murphy & ED-209 and many many others? No. I guess looks like humans? With lovestory? But anyway so many movies and series and fictions.
So if this list has animated series "Chobits" then why not "Ghost in the Shell", "Armitage III" and pretty "fall in love with the gynoid" drama "Firebird 2772: Love's Cosmozone"?

Yeh! "Real Humans" (Swedish: "Äkta människor") first season aired at 2012 y. This show has really strong and brilliant storyline. Amazing indeed!
It's more deeper and complex then sweet and romantic "Chobits".

"Real Doll Complete Collection", it was a Japanese documentary type of DVD made somewhere around 2005 that featured the Real Doll factory and a lengthy interview with Matt McMullen.
