Re: TV Interview about Doll Ownership.

In a previous life (many years ago before I retired) I, by chance, had detailed knowledge of a couple of TV news stories. In both cases, when the news items were published (TV and Print) the stories were so distorted that, in both cases, any observer would think and believe pretty much the opposite of the Reality, the Truth, whatever you want to call it.

And we all know how a brilliant talking and clever lawyer can trick witnesses and courts into believing or interpreting all sorts of things and turn guilty to not guilty or vice versa.

I was fairly confident that Mike Clay would treat me fairly because of the reputation of the ABC (Australian equivalent of the UK's BBC) and from my sense of him from prior correspondence and conversations.

Even so he created some 'poetic licence' by the use of certain commentary. For example he used words 'sad', 'lonely', 'his house and days are pretty empty'. He also got my medical condition wrong. I have Spina Bifida, not Scoliosis though the effect is the same as described.

So, despite me telling him during the course of our conversations and Interview that:
"I have never been so content in my whole life since having dolls",
"I am not lonely" and
"My weekly social calendar is full" ( I play cards, organise a trivia night and play board games every week, go to Aqua fitness class, organise a monthly Luncheon and occasionally go to the theatre with my 'meetup' social group. Who btw know of my 'hobby'.)
He sowed the seeds of thought into viewers minds of sad, lonely, empty man with doll.

Just goes to show, even on a good day the media is 'tricky'. To trust commercial media would be most unwise.

Cheers
Muz

PS While I enjoy discussion of various philosophical thoughts and ideas I prefer if whole post quotes not be used please. :D
I am pretty much retired from posting these days but have you read my blogs on Human Sexuality at CoverDoll?

When you realise the media is owned by the government and has an agenda you will understand why they twist stories like this. Lets say they put doll ownership in a positive light , this will result in men in the thousands purchasing dolls for themselves and this will further decrease the birth rates and will destroy marriage which is rapidly decreasing regardless. They don't want men to understand that we can be happy without a woman , it will affect the control they have over us which is very evident in the FB comments, just sheep spouting nonsense without anything to back it up and they are so full of hate.
If you look at all the stories about doll ownership they all carry the same message , sad lonely men who are anti social, can't get laid, is ugly, mentally retarded and is a burden on society. We all know this is not true but the brain washed masses will believe it.
I'm just glad I am not one of them.

You wrap it all up in a nice little package. Your comment sums up all the major truths about the issue. We can have our needs filled and be happy by our own actions, but many women can never be satisfied. They can say all day "well he must not have put effort into his marriages" but when half of marriages end in divorce, and >80% are filed by the wife, it's pretty hard to say it's always the mans fault.

"How many women marry dildos?"

Well, they might try if they came with a paycheck and alimony if you divorce them.

"I'm alone, but I'm not lonely"

This is actually a song that reminds me a lot of my doll.

That my friend, started my day with a huge laugh!

As far as showing doll owners in a positive light and showing you to have a full, social life, well, it simply does not fit into their narrative. Therefore, it will be ignored. We can't let facts get in the way of a good story now, can we?
It's not a doll, dammit, it's an action figure!

Next time don't openly attack people for their opinions. You jumped to conclusions and you are 1000 percent incorrect on every single point and assumption.
Since when are psychologists closed minded? Your "opinion" is likened to telling an engineer that he knows nothing about mathematics.
Muzza has asked that you DO NOT QUOTE anymore, (yes, there I was shouting) yet you continue to do so.
I asked that you leave it alone already and get on with your life, (unless of course this is your life) and yet you can not because you feel the need to attack a fellow doll owner who by the way, was DEFENDING doll owners while they were being slighted. I don't see YOU on Facebook defending Muzza.
I am certain that even now you will lack the self confidence to back away from this ridiculous "debate" and not resisting the urge to get the last word in.
Muzza and the rest of the readers*, I apologize for hijacking the thread and just want to let you know that I will continue the good fight of defending our public image. Thank you.
*Except for 4biddenartist.....he's loving this. lol)

We do not need 10 specialists to analyze Muzza's video. It is fun to see how people (mostly on facebook) are self proclaimed specialist who will bash anyone posting their opinion. But look for one of those "specialist" going publicly on a video, facing a camera, that will debate the relation that Muzza has with his doll ...and you will find none. Those haters are no more than coward hiding behind their keyboard with limited minds ...

The reality is, if you do not hurt anyone ... then what you are doing is your own business. Period. Even though I do not experience my doll the same way Muzza is, I understand the way he does it and I am really happy for him. He cured his loneliness with his doll and in the end this in the only thing that matters, "specialists" agreeing or not.

Muzza is a VERY courageous man to show up on a video, explaining how he is living his relation with his doll. He is one of the most courageous man on this forum and I salute him. As far as the haters go ...pff just ignore them. They will always exist to poison the life of the courageous people speaking their mind.

Muzza is happy, hurt no one and is courageous enough to share it. Nothing to analyse here.

I have to admit Babel99, I certainly would not have the courage to do a TV interview about my dolls. Muzza is a braver man than I

For those that have not seen the interview with Phil and Pris from the UK forum on UK channel 4.
Go to, 1.05:34 on the clip to see Phil and Pris, if you don't wish to sit through the rest.

Wow did I miss a lot. And here I thought this thread was about Muzza and Noni and the TV interview they did..... Total Shocker to read, and re-read, and re-read, and re-read posts.... and have an Intermission with George Castanza..... and then finish it all off with a TV show..... (Wow)

Have to admit, it was quite entertaining....

Muzza still have hella respect for you man, and apparently Phil as well now.

It was really nice that Phil's friends were so understanding of his relationship.
I was struck in particular by the young lady interviewed at the bar. She gets what it's all about. 8)

Why on earth would they start making a Real Doll with AI that talks? That's just what I need. A doll that nags me about taking out the trash and putting my laundry away.
