My Cammy diary and running review. (Dagmar doll from BD)
Re: My Cammy diary and running review. (Dagmar doll from BD)
@privatetai: image says 'despair but also an erection'
I can imagine how wrong it must've felt to cram her back into a box after having connected with her. Stupid judgemental society.

Can you imagine it took me 3 hours to do this crap?
Go ahead, you can laugh now. lol
Well, actually most of that 3 hours was me trying to get the tangles out of her hair. She shed enough during that process to make a brand new wig! eesh. And here I thought my cat sheds badly.

The point you make in paragraph one and two is certainly a factor for me. It doesn't reduce cost phenomenally to choose a good fabric doll (somehow I expected they would be much cheaper).privatetai wrote:One big big factor against fabric dolls is that no matter how good, they just don't look/feel as realistic. So if realism is important as is the case for many, they can't compete with TPE/silicone dolls. Also they are cheaper but still quite pricy. I can totally see someone reasoning it out to spend a bit more for a much heavier and realistic doll rather than spending $500 less to get a fabric.
For example, my fabric Dagmar actually costs as much as my 140 CM TPE, and my Textile doll even more. So when the price's this close, TPE seems a better option with its more realistic feel and look and weight.
Another reason being that it is hard for a new owner to imagine what fabric doll may feel like while, if you want to know what TPE feels like, you can just spend a couple hundred bucks on a TPE torso or hip toy to test the water.
And your point in paragraph three I also totally relate to. Fabric, is pretty much a mystery to me. I am just not familiar with it.
Plus my resistance is that I expect skin not clothing as the contact point and I expect a fabric doll to be less sensually satisfying. Blowup dolls were a huge disappointment and I expect fabric to be the same. I *have* read of urethane dolls (some with light PVC 'skeleton') being sealed in a rubbery material - e.g. Erie by Cruyff of Japan. That would probably be more the direction I will go.
Thanks for your insights.

Yes, most TPE dolls that are the same size range as fabric will cost twice more- unless you try your luck on aliexpress.

Just had a 50 year old flashback. I'm back at school copping a feel under a cheerleader's skirt!privatetai wrote:Nope it doesn't feel like skin. It feels like what skins feel like when wearing stockings.
Already bought a TPE, but might just have to revisit this fabric doll thing.

I just ordered a Dagmar with silicone head also.privatetai wrote:At least Tiger likes her just fine it seems.

On your doll photo (above), I was wondering why you had your doll with sunglasses on, but it seems that is clear in this shot. A bit of trouble with positioning the eyes?
But when I looked at the picture I did a 'Yikes!' and not from the rolled back eyeball, but her eyebrows! They seem WAY out of place. They start out right, but the ends should be shorter and curve down to follow the eye more.
I am now worried a bit that my doll will come the same way. I wonder if that is something that could be fixed. Otherwise I am looking at wigs that will cover the sides of her face. One of the wigs that I got from Joy is a really short one too.
I know real women usually fix eyebrow issues with an eyebrow pencil. Not sure if that could be done here....perhaps use some concealer to shorten the length and then eyebrow pencil to curve it down more.
I am a little surprised that they make the silicone heads with the eyebrows so far off.
Anyway how are things going with your little lady?

The firmness of the head however is a different matter. With the amount of good TPE heads on the market, it's beyond me why they sell her with a super firm, almost rubbery feeling head with no oral capability.

Also the doll is TPE?
It is interesting that the doll is fold in the carton, so she is not damaged in shipping?

Nope no damage from folding at all- I've folded her to store away many times and she's just fine. She is very flexible.

Ohhhh, Ok. I must have overlooked that when you mentioned you were blind. That does explain the sunglasses on the doll as you don't have a reference to position the eyeballs straight. It might help to have a friend actually put a dab of clear glue on the center of the eyeball so this way you can feel the eyeball's position mainly for taking pictures of her. But yeah, unlike the the 160cm doll (Miya) which also has a silicon head, the eyebrows run off very high and long.privatetai wrote:I'm very happy with her. Like I said earlier on this post, Dagmar definitely can use some improvement, but in this case, I'm pretty lucky to be blind so the eye/brow issues don't bother me as much.

I don't know if they had made corrections when you bought your doll. I hope so, otherwise in the very least, I have to see if there is a way I can at least shorten the eyebrows, or go as far as even correct the shape. I find, on a woman, the eyebrows are VERY important to the overall attractiveness of the face. A woman can have a not so pretty nose and still look overall beautiful, but bad eyebrows can ruin the whole face. At least that is in my opinion.
Well, we will see when I get her. Right now, while I am waiting, I am getting more things for her to wear.

Re: My Cammy diary and running review. (Dagmar doll from BD)
Yes, that was one of the noted benefits of when I was first looking into Dagmar, to have a full size doll that could wear regular off-shelf adult woman's clothing. While I was initially looking at full size TPE and silicone dolls, it became quickly apparent that a full size doll made from these materials would be very heavy (about 32kg) One solution was to go smaller, but many of the shorter dolls have frames that are so small, one would have to resort to buying children's clothing. While one could find 'sexy' looking dresses through dancewear channels, you would never find lace teddy's or underwear like that. Granted I DO think there are sources to buy clothing for such smaller dolls, but I am sure that comes with a premium price. But I ran into another issue in regards to small dolls. I couldn't really fathom buying any doll smaller than 150cm. It seems that is the shortest acceptable height to me for an adult woman, any smaller and I would feel like I am with a child rather than an adult. I guess it is because I am tall at 188cm and the shortest woman I dated was 150cm. Also finding adult women shorter than this becomes rare.privatetai wrote:Luckily Dagmar is super easy to dress- she wears anything from s to m American size, sometimes even a large will work. So finding clothes for her be alot easier than what I had to go through for Riza, my 140 CM TPE.
Then there was the maintenance involved with a silicone or TPE doll and finally, the fear of damaging a near $2000 doll due to my inexperience in handling them. I was close to buying a full size silicone doll anyway when I heard about fabric dolls and I decided to look down this road. Initially I didn't like what I saw when I visited such sites as Teddy Babes and Textile dolls. I wanted some semblance of a realistic face. Then I heard about Beautiful Dolls and their line of Anime dolls WHICH had the option for a realistic silicone head. This raised a '?' in my head and for a LONG time I was weighing out the pros to going with a fabric doll over silicone or TPE. There just were many more negatives to the latter two than with a fabric doll. The fabric dolls seemed to be more durable, have a greater range of motion, easier to maintain, easy to fix if there is an issue. Finally, it was also much cheaper AND taller than any other doll I looked at. There were just WAY too many positives to NOT go this route. The greatest one being less weight followed by the ability to put her in just about any clothing that is commercially available.
My doll isn't even here yet and I already I have bought a bunch of items for her. It is quite fun actually!
I did notice that her body is quite a bit of a pear shape, in that she does run into a US size 4 - 6 on top, which is a small, but her hips push the limits on a Size 8 which is medium. While that does make things a bit more difficult in terms of one piece outfits that are non stretchy, from others that I have seen here, stretchy items work fine. In fact high cut leg leotards and bathing suits look awesome on Dagmar. The doll has an amazing shape for a fabric doll and it was one reason why I chose this one over the Anime Deluxe body. That body I would have had less difficulty in finding clothing, but I just like the thicker legs and more full butt on Dagmar. The curves going from the butt to the torso are just too amazing to ignore.
