Chloé's tutorial - a safety briefing for all dolls

Hi!

I help to look after Harem when his wife's not around and keep him out of trouble.

You never know what he'll get up to next and sometimes I have surprises . . .
Image

The other day my 168plus sister in England told me that she had had a surprise as well
Image
and thought that I'd look good in that wig, so she very kindly ordered me one from http://www.domax.fr and sent it over with an urgent message about hearing about a new sister who's been rushed into accident and emergency to have an operation.

Before I retired down to the South of France, I was a fitness instructor at Porn School and so
Image
I've come today to give a safety briefing for all dolls who want to do things.

Thera is sexy enough
Image
so I'm sending back to England some sensible shoes to wear, like mine which are very fashionable nowadays
ImageImage
so that she doesn't injure her delicate soft heels and feet so that she can safely stand up to look at the flowers in the garden
Image
Don't they match my eyelashes rather well? !

Well that's enough standing for the moment - it's not really good for our heels, so I want to sit down. I need a bit of help for this so you've got to tell your man how to do it. The first thing to do is to put me into a "reset" position. If you go back to this to develop a new pose, your man won't then make a mistake.

So heave ho. On the table. Here I am reset and relaxed, apart from having to turn my head to look at you . . .
Image

Whilst I'm here I'd like to tell you something that makes my DS sisters and I really special - it's a mid body joint that can rotate independently from my hips - here goes
Image

Isn't that fun!

Image

Mustn't get distracted. Back to where we were.
ImageImageImage

I want to sit in that chair so the first thing is to move my leg at the hip
Image

Then I can bend my knee
Image
so that from here if you want you can rotate at my knee to direct my ankle and foot
ImageImage

Hey! Thanks to Aira's Dad, Mahoro, for telling my man all about this! Maharo's a hero!

So now back straight
Image
and
Image

So here I am
Image

Voila!
Image

Hey what did you do that for now? I'm not teaching at porn school any more! Put me back!

Image

That's more like it. Now I've got my arm out there to stop me rolling over.

Hey! But be careful - my arm is stopping me rolling over because it can't move in that direction from that position. That means that there's a hell of a lot of leverage there and you can break me OUCH OUCH OUCH BE CAREFUL!

Image

That's better. Safer now. My "reset" sitting position.
Heave ho! I'm ready now! Chair please!

Lights.

Camera.

ACTION!

Image
WOW! Thanks for that. Ready to start.

Are all dolls seated comfortably now?

Now my arm can go down and be ready.
Image

to go up
Image
or sideways
Image

but not from up forwards to up sideways without going back to the reset position first. One action or the other, not both at the same time
Image

You've got to do that movement in two stages. You have to work with the two short sides of a triangle and not go directly along the diagonal to get to that position. Otherwise both hinges will work against each other and eventually one will be strained . . . . and OUCH OUCH OUTCH! Out of action for a while.

Not all doll skeletons are the same of course, and my 168 sisters have been redesigned with a fancy super duper skeleton in which for instance her elbows rotate from my shoulder rather than at the elbow, and her feet can rotate at the ankle rather than the knee . . . so there are all sorts of things you have to feel for, breaking movement down into component parts so that just one fulcrum is in use at any one time.

So now my arm is diagonal, I can show you what I can do from here . . .

My lower arm rotates at the elbow
Image
and from here can hinge in whatever direction it wants to go.

Image

Hey! Time for my hat - it's hot
Image

Thank you
So don't forget - my arm's now diagonal and in order to put my hat on my head, it's got to come back towards my body

Image

to go up. Yes, straight up now

Image

That's it. Yes - now rotate
Image

It's very fetching isn't it!?

Image

I love my hat! It comes from a special place, the Pam Pam in Juan Les Pins, where beautiful Brazilian girls dance and show real people how they can move! There's even a dance where one of them pretends to be a doll! But I don't need that! I'm Chloé trained by Stef in France and I'm . . . Oooh La La!

Image

So time to go. Take care and be safe . . .

Image

Now even Thera can dance like a Pam Pam girl

Image

and the sun's too hot so it's time for me to go gardening up the ladder

Fitness instructor at porn school :haha4: Now that´s a hell of a great job if you look at the pics.
Great tutorial, it´s very useful, not just for ds dolls,
thanks for sharing, and for sharing the fun,
Chris

It was fun for Chloé to do these shots. But importantly sometimes we do things naturally that we can't explain so we don't talk about them and pass ideas on . . .

Chloé told me this morning that the reason for going back to a reset position after every movement is that whilst every position is possible all actions happen with a combination of two hinges, often plus one angular rotation built in. This can give the illusion of having ball joints, but that they are not, and that stiffness which has to be built in to the hinges means that working one of the hinges at 90 degrees to the other hinge at 90 degrees is safe, because the hinges are two prong forks between which a plate for the next section is inserted, sandwiched and bolted. Because the plates of the fork are wide, 90 degree pressure against the hinge whilst the other hinge is operated is safe. But working the two hinges together at an angle in between does not give 90 degree resistance and 0 degree fluidity of movement - it puts twisting torsional pressure and strain on all of the components of both hinges. That sounds complicated but I hope it's clear.

So the point of going back to "reset" is that every pose she makes involves rotating one of the hinges to a direction that you might not have remembered, so the rest position to which one returns means that all movements are reversed in the same sequence that they were undertaken, to then provide a known route to another position.

With hands that rotate, there is no indication of where the elbow hinge was left.

From here
Image
or
Image
or
Image
the arm can be straightened to
Image
without having given much indication of which direction it was before.

Better illustrated perhaps -
Image
to
Image
or here
Image
using angular rotation from the elbow (158) or armpit (168plus) which when straightened gives the problem and the danger if precisely the reverse sequence of movements is not followed specifically.

Best wishes

You must be joking! Of course Aira does this at home:
Image

Seriously however, when one is helping a doll to manoeuvre into position, it's all the more important to stick to the movement rules, directing action from the body first, working out to the extremities. A natural reaction can be to pull the hand to whatever destination it is needed to go, rather than directing the action from the body itself so that the hand travels in the direction she wants to go.

Thera (168plus) decided that she wasn't going to leave it to Chloé to be the star and insisted on showing you how a doll should get dressed . . . as ordinary mannequins don't know how a proper doll does it . . .
Image
Not like this
Image
as it really is against doctor's orders
ImageImage

but like this
Image
Image
Image
Image
ImageImageImageImageImage
Phew! Did you really have to take my head off?
Image
That's better!
Image
I can relax now. Come on - look at me - no not there - in the eye . .

Best wishes

Thanks Thera, great tutorial

An alternative way to put on a shirt, is from the bottom up. Just put your legs through it and pull it up.
When the shirt is at waist level, put your hands through the sleeves. Be careful not to damage your nails or fingers!
Next, pull the shirt over your breasts and get everything in place :D
I prefer it this way if the neckband is wide enough for my hips, as I don't like to lose my head

What is the size of the doll in the red bikini? Is that the 158, the one they don't make anymore?

That is the second time I've seen dents in the top of their breasts, is that a common problem for DS dolls? I wonder how that happens.

Thank you Cloe, your posts are fantastic. This is the type of "manual" that manufacturer's should include with the girls. Without this I would probably ended up breaking something the first day.

yes Chronos I too am wondering how the DS doll got a dent in her breast, and if it's common?

This is off topic as this thread, as a sticky, is about doll movement. She suffered a bad journey from the north of France and initially was much worse but recovered a lot. She was made in 2012 as an experimental soft silicone order and there have been two generations of DS designs since. Please see http://dollforum.com/forum/viewtopic.ph ... 66#p668566 and http://dollforum.com/forum/viewtopic.ph ... 95#p669195 and http://dollforum.com/forum/viewtopic.ph ... 69#p680669

I'm sure that new designs have advanced to avoid such problems but breast sag is a known phenomenon among all brands. As I have shown it's not a difficult problem. Member Smoke has documented his repair of a RealDoll from memory and member AirDollPlushDoll's Ruby 13 has also suffered.

These are always good reads for the newer members of or community. I know this one helped me when Dee first arrived even though she came from somewhere different to Chloé.

Good to see Thera gettin in and having a go, but you know I am biased.

My girls all said I should mention that having the neck/head bolt pushed forward also helps when getting their tops on. They tell me it is not so tight under their armpits when getting the top over their neck.

Keep doing these Harem, you are saving dolls from unwanted pain.
