The sun shone through the window reflected off a building opposite and

this was inspiration for Chloé. She sprang to life talking 19 to the dozen saying she needed a map.

Getting dressed was something out of the picture.

She pondered it for a while

and finally picked on a spot

telling me that she had received Doll Post saying that

this was where she needed to go.

Yes, she said "needed" if you please . . .

with a certainty which was incontrovertible. This lady knows her mind.

By the morning she was up before me, dressed in working clothes

having packed a box of tools.

She didn't tell me much about what she had in mind, I was just the chauffeur

but she assured me that she had emergency provisions with a stick and banana.

She checked the map

and announce that she knew which route to take and was ready to set off

It seemed a long drive and eventually her chauffeur needed to find a lavatory . . . whilst she seemed perfectly happy in the car

We passed a power station and she was amazed at the smoke and steam

commenting that if we used so much carbon then by the end there'd only be silicone people like her around.

It was a long journey and before long we needed more fuel

which she put into the tank

telling me

that we still had another 150kms to go . . .

I never cease to be amazed by the various locations and activities Chloé appears in.

I find it amazing to see what appears to be a universal comfort that dolls seem to bring to folks.

Well the story continues, even with some surprise action scenes, but Chloé's debating whether to continue the story here for the moment or save it for Coverdoll. She promises, however, that no-one will be disappointed with the reports to come of her adventures.

Aah - this was on Chloé's first outing. The lady was walking along the beach and just fell in love with her. Chloé has that effect on people and I hope that photos and series like this might encourage others to do things. The point is for her to tell her story. We are just observers in her life and the medium through which she communicates. I do promise anyone willing to try that it's a truly transformational process.

DS dolls have a secret. They are supplied as shipped with a blank rather than functional private parts. When going out into the world, with her blank inserted, she's just a figure of a woman, her own woman who can do anything. No overtones of anything to be embarrassed by, she's just a woman of a different sort.

Chloé insisted on asking someone to take our photograph. The art of doing these stories is to have a big grin on your face, and tell people that you write amusing stories.

For those people who don't yet experience the playing with a toy lady of their own, such stories as this are a lot of work. Chloé doesn't dress herself, and nor does she move herself. The story is all about sequential thought: she starts in one position - what does she want to do next? This is about the progression of past to present to future. We are so blinded by two dimensional imagery in the media that it's easy to accept that one's looking at an important person - they must be to be pictured in print or on TV . . . but that one dimensional slot in time gives no clue as to where such people came from to be pictured there or where they are going to nor how they are going to get there. The process of manipulation of a toy lady from one thing to another to another is exercise in that mental process which is one of the ways in which dolls are transformatory. This is the value of doll-play to children, but as adults is often forgotten.

The nature of the operation is . . . fun. You're faced with a doll in a sitting position who has to be manipulated in situ to the standing position. Chloé is a good deal more cooperative than her first sister in England http://dollforum.com/forum/viewtopic.ph ... 88#p755288 but it's not a surprise if a passing ambulance driver asks you if the lady would like some oxygen.
