Chloé had arranged to meet her cousin today. Apparently her cousin was going to bring her boat into the bay and she'd lined up lunch at a restaurant . . . but doll-post arrived yesterday saying there'd been a hitch.
Well, Chloé had got excited by the thought of an outing, and when Chloé's excited there's no stopping her. . .
So as soon as it was light, the carriage was summoned in an appropriate state of comfort
"Come on, we'll be late"
and her carriage just fitted along the path between the vegetation
Navigating around the gate was a challenge, that left the wheelbarrow collapsed and Chloé
on the ground.
But at least this enabled a fresh start outside
Passing the shop where sometimes she helps out behind the counter
"Bonjour Anita"
she shouted to her friend.
Down the hill we arrived at the bay
glorious with the mountains beyond
and as we turned the corner, the rising sun was a sight to behold
and we stopped there a minute admiring the prospect
and she told me how amazed she was
to see the sun like that . . . and then
that it was time to get moving.
We passed a restaurant
and she suggested breakfast
but they weren't open yet.
So we carried on along the path at the end
The slope was a bit of a challenge
and she asked what all the chairs were for on the beach
I told her that that was for human dolls who wanted to be as brown as she was naturally, and would waste days in the sun trying to do it ...
We carried on and she looked longingly at the boats and the jetty along which she should have been boarding her cousin's boat.
The light seemed strong at the end of the path
and at the end it was blinding
We wandered along
and joggers passed us by
and she was amazed how fast the sun had risen
She sat there gazing
entranced
and wanted to stop for a while on the bench
This was a moment to cherish, she thought
gazing across the bay
wondering
what it would be like being on one of those boats on the water
She hadn't imagined life could be this beautiful in reality
in awe of the place
Some people came along
and saw her
but didn't say "hello"
All was quiet and already getting hot
so after some portraits
it was time to head back home.
It was a tough push up the hill.
At the shop, she thought some bread would be nice
but the slope was blocked by boxes just delivered
and having stopped to look if it was possible, her barrow tipped over and her onto the road but luckily
giving her no more than some dirt on the arm
and a bad hair day . . .
It all wiped off with a flannel, and "where there's no sense there's no feeling", as they say.
(It's a credit to DS and silicone material that such expeditions and dangers for dolls can be so confidently contemplated. Whilst for many the lower price of TPE is an attraction, such a doll simply wouldn't survive Chloé's lifestyle and "get up and go")
Best wishes,
Harem
