I could see it now, Nina on guitar, Jessie on mic, and Jada on drums If only I had a mic and drums
Hi Spedfish!
Thanks!! Glad to be back in action!! Thanks for the comments about Nina's "studio" ... she says it gets too hot with all the lights on. And I agree!
I'm hoping to put together a couple little shoots a bit more interesting that "lighting checks" this week. Work on Nina's posing with the guitar in hand, get it all balanced where she won't fall over.
Have her outfit picked out and ready to go! I may take a few "teaser" shots when she dons her "stage outfit"!!
Nina, Jessie and Jada ... what a hell of a band shoot that would be!! We still need a bass player!
Von, that is an awesome studio that Nina has there. Upon seeing that, my girls are now pestering me for something better then what they currently have.
Nice pics von - looks like the new camera performs well, there´s a leap in quality. Too bad about the old glass, that´s another reason I stick to Nikon where I can use lenses from the 50´s on a 2014 model.
So when are you gonna record and publish one of Nina´s guitar solos? I bet a band of dollies would probably be a success in Japan, if one doesn´t already exist that is. Sign my Viola up for playing the ukulele.

Oh well..... It just means more work
Thanks Joe ... pretty much took your suggestions and ran with 'em! The ceiling grid idea was great! Gives me the freedom to move lights wherever I need 'em and also provides a place to "tie off" anything that needs support.
Have given some thought to building a slat background like you have for posing/holding your girls (and Jeeves). Also a good idea for attaching any props needed for the shoot! Haven't reached that stage yet ... may wait 'til later in the year or early next year to start building it. Right now, the swappable backgrounds are working out pretty good ... may try some "green/blue screen" stuff and learn some photoshopping tricks.
It's a lot to take in all at once, but I'm havin' a blast trying stuff out and seeing the results. And Nina has been a real champ ... never complains, always ready to go. Says she is almost ready to "put on her costume" and start some serious photo shooting! We'll see if we can put something more exciting than "test shots" this weekend!
I hope you and Buffy and the gang have a successful and fun Halloween shoot this year ... y'all always put something cool together!

Thanks Mandos! Yeah, definite HUGE leap in camera quality Buddy!!
I am able to use 2 out of 8 old lenses with the new camera. The 2 "factory" lenses work GREAT with the camera body, it is the "after market" lenses that don't quite fit the new body. I did order another telephoto/zoom for my camera that will give me ALL the focal range that the other lenses provided. Full range covered now from 18mm to 500mm IN TWO LENSES!!
Thanks for the "Nina's guitar solo" idea! I'm gonna try to do something with this idea and hope it turns out as planned!
An all doll band shot would be awesome! That would be a group effort, but could be done!! Nina says your sexy Viola (will she ever tell you her name?) is more than welcome to play Uke in her band!! We are still short a bass player ... LOL!!

Greetings all! ... had a few pics to share from tonight's test shoot.
Was checkin' out how Nina and the guitar function together as one unit ... finding sweet spots and balance points ... playin' around with shooting angles ... movin' the lights around. Experimenting. These are my favs from the test shoot.
brigittes hubbie wrote:Oh my, Nina going cherry red, that´s just so hot!!! And she´s getting better with the guitar as well!
Chris
Hi Chris!!
I just knew you would like these shots of "Red Hot Cherry" Nina! I don't know how much "life" is left in this red wig ... I just hope it lasts until I finish Nina's "Rock n Roll Rebel" show. Ya get what Ya pay for!! (And I only paid $5.99 for the wig ... so ... we shall see )
Also found out that Nina does not have quite the flexibility in her wrists/arms to get "accurate" poses with the guitar, but we'll certainly work something out before the "final show".
Plugged in ... gettin' ready to kick on the power.

Judging by Nina's Hair she must have been jamming. What tune?

Hi Harvey!
Oh she was jammin' alright ... started with some Jimi Hendrix "Foxey Lady" and ended with Eddie Van Halen's "Eruption" solo! Nina was on fire!!
