Hi!tubee wrote:By saying "blush" are you saying the color is actually sprayed on highlighting? In truth DS pink is a blush rather than a colour and it's superbly graded in areas highlighting the body very naturally.
No - the colour is solid but the nature of the pink is subtle.
Here's DS JiaYi in the foreground with PIB Joon behind:
PIB colour is a rather more solid pink whereas DS is much lighter with highlights of colour on the face and body bringing out features.
Perhaps this is more apparent with Aira (Sandy)
Here's Aira nursing PIB Bella who's waiting for a body . . . Bella is a solid colour in comparison. Look at Aira's chest. Her pink is subtle but her breat bones are gently highlighted in extra colour.
The DS colour is more delicate than other manufacturers and this is why you're having a problem in choice on account of subtlety.
Returning to Stef's photos showing the effect of ambient light, and with personal knowledge of Chloé herself the following might be of interest:
I have colour corrected this, to the extent which it's possible, going for a white as reference in the stripe of the pillow:
Here are some more portraits of her from Stef:
and here in true daylight in the south of France
So from these you can see the way in which ambient light very much alters the perception of colour in photos.
The best possible colour comparison is here between Mandy, left, and Penny, right
Mandy is pink, whilst Penny is yellow. By accident I forgot to specify pink and thought that Steven at DS would know my dolls to be pink - so both of us had a senior moment and Penny arrived in her yellow incarnation. But she's still a darling . . .
Best wishes
