Please be aware though that the measurements for the chest girth (or band size) are measured too low on the dolls, it's too close to their waist, while it should've been right underneath their breasts. This will decrease the cup-sizes a bit.

Dolls give us a perspective, a perspective of others.

Within the current generation of Chinese population reduction, everyone now has been growing up as only children. No brothers, no sisters. Few aunts and uncles. Children have been worshipped, and especially girls and everything has been done for them and they have not had to think about others and forming working relationships with brothers and sisters. The reward for parents putting everything into their single child has been the child's overwhelming pressure to do well and reward the parents by the success of the child. This has destroyed teen relationships where the children have to work outrageously hard to pass exams and first love comes to nothing.

Many chinese men buy dolls to relive their first love in their teens, truncated by overwhelming pressures to go to college and pass exams.

There are further problems because not having been practiced at communication and relating to others as children within the family, even relationships in business have to be taught rather than be intuitive.

From the outside, many people see any of us who have dolls merely as sex-freaks or dollsexual rather than humansexual, even one the verge of necrophyliacs. Yet this is far from the truth as many of the people I communicate here are perfectly normal red-blooded males and many married. During pregnancy or later due to family pressures, or work, or menopause, perhaps sex isn't as frequent as desired and whether sex happens or not with a doll, a toy lady provides an extra fantasy of feminity which would otherwise divert perhaps into a mistress or other activity outside marriage. So that's the perspective from outside.

But many of us find that as soon as we acquire a doll, she comes to life. Sitting there, doing nothing, she starts to ask us to do something. So we have to move her. As soon as we move her, we have to move her as she wants to move, as her skeletal limbs are constructed to want to move. Limb by limb we position her until she's doing what she wants to do and in manipulating her we have to manipulate her not as manipulating another, from the hand for instance, but as if we are her moving, so from the shoulder. As soon as this happens, we start thinking for the doll, we empathise with her about what she wants, what she needs, and she comes alive as the doll in the video of this post.

The effect on us doll owners is transformatory for many of us as we enlarge our dimensions of thought to encompass others' points of view. This in turn makes unmarried dollkeepers more attractive to the opposite sex and many dolls are sold "due to a change in domestic circumstances" as a result.

So really dolls are a universal human interest expanding across and irrespective of cultural or political boundaries or even propaganda. Dolls are a wonderful dimension for all.

"What is me? And what is other?" Through the eyes of a doll becoming the reflection of me, many of us with dolls can be reflections of others.

Hey harem... when I read his post, I thought perhaps he meant something along the lines of "It is really good to create advertisements in China (maybe because of the scenery?)"

I thought perhaps that English wasn't azsx's first language, and he didn't choose the appropriate word, as 'propaganda' has a negative connotation.

The way I see it, the outsiders are perfectly okay with sex toys like fleshlights, and things of that sort. A doll liken to DS dolls shouldn't be seen in a negative way if fleshlights aren't either. A doll is certainly more appealing than a fleshlight (which can have the appearance of a leech).

I mean, that is my opinion thus far. Even though I ordered a DS doll already, I am still in the waiting process, so I do not know, or better yet, I haven't experienced first hand the other aspects of being a doll owner yet.

Very interesting question. I can only speculate, but there may be a few factors at play here. First, these dolls are a newer phenomenon in China than in North America and the West, so it's early yet. The profile of a doll customer in China may skew more towards lonely, romantic, creative types and less towards, I dunno, porn consumers?

Second, China is at a certain level a fairly conservative society. De-emphasizing the sexual aspect and highlighting the artistic aspect of these dolls is a good way of making these dolls acceptable in that market. This might make sense in a country like America too, except American culture has long been hostile to artists in general. A lot of doll owners sell their ownership to family and friends (and even to themselves) as "for photography", or because the doll is "beautiful art". These claims may even be valid in many cases, but it's often a bit of a dodge when they pretend absolutely no interest in the sexual potential of a doll. It's a bit like the old excuse of claming to read Playboy for the articles.

Finally, it may in fact be true that Chinese culture sees these dolls differently than we in the West do. The ability love dolls have to inspire not just sexual, but romantic feelings is expressing itself through specific cultural mythology. Just as many Western dolls are idealized to conform to classic Western myths (elves, pixies, fairies, succubi, vampires etc), in the East these dolls are being fitted into Eastern mythological archetypes.
