Questions about prospective 160+

Hello everyone,

New member, new to the hobby as well - but very excited to learn and participate. Currently pondering a DS Sandy 160+, but have a few questions / ideas I'd love to get feedback on...

As photography is one of my primary interests, silicone dolls do occasionally seem to display a high "shine" on their skin, nipples, etc. Are there tips / tricks / techniques owners have found to combat this effect in general? I've heard that various types of powder work well, is there one that is especially suited for the DS?

Additionally, I'm interested in possibilities regarding jaw articulation / facial expressive capabilities, etc. Certainly a lot can be achieved with a shift of focal point, different angles, lighting etc.

Standing poses: it seems like the best practice is to use some form of support, regardless of whether the doll is capable of standing on its own. I do like the idea of a free-standing model, but understand that the risk of damage to the feet, or an unexpected tip-over is significant. Is this generally correct?

I have seen some wonderful photography with the DS models - I like the idea of the taller 168 model, but the curves seem more pronounced on the shorter. I'm not sure if this is a trick of the photos, or relative sizes of the models. I'm definitely a fan of exaggerated curves

It's also not 100% clear to me whether these dolls have a truly functional anal sex option - it's not a deal breaker for me either way, but I definitely want to know what I'm getting in terms of both photographic and sexual capabilities. I've been trying to make a bit of a pro/con "feature matrix" to aid my decision making.

I've read that talcum powder works best on DS Dolls to reduce the shine. Personally, I'd recommend cornstarch because it's edible, but some members have reported cornstarch doesn't work as well as talcum does.

You're correct in thinking the doll needs support for an extended period in a standing pose. If you were to leave her on her own two feet, it's very likely the bottom of her feet would tear, not to mention the risk of her falling over.

The DS Dolls have a nice feature to keep a doll "standing" by suspending her from the hanging wire.
Because the hook is at the top of her head, she gives the illusion of standing freely and doesn't need a back push like dolls with a neck bolt who want to lean forward.

If you raise her just enough so her feet barely touch the ground, it'll look like she's standing, but there will hardly be any pressure on her feet. This trick can also be used to keep her "standing" on high heels, where normally, high heels are not recommended for free standing as the pressure is focused at the front of her feet, which can form a tear easily.

Hi!

You've probably seen my photos of Chloé and Aira. These are the old 158 which was remodelled with detail rather than major changes into the current 160+. No anal.

Curves - yes - nice. And wonderful for photography. In just over a week's time this month's Coverdoll will contain photos of Chloe who did amazing things for me last time we went on a photo-rampage together.

Curves - yes she has them . . .

Apparently the new soft silicone is not as shiny - but baby powder is brilliant at giving both a great feel and killing any reflections.

Hi seattlefun! Welcome to TDF!

With DS dolls, on the older formula, talcum powder works best. Corn starch doesn't work very well on my DS doll, mainly because pressure on the skin reveals it, and then your lady has fingerprints all over her. Plus, during sex, if you prespire, and it drips on her, the corn starch will start to smear, and make a mess, which can be cleaned up, but still a pain.

My Ruby DS head (her name is actually Isabelle) looks like she's sleeping from upper angles, but from lower angles, she looks like she's ready to pounce.

The non-oral mouths are about 1 inch deep. They are great for kissing, even with tongue, but for oral sex, it's not particularly great. There are oral heads which are much better suited. The mouth cannot be articulated, but you can do things like put a cigarette or toothpick in it.

I caused small tears in my doll's feet just by putting platform pumps on her. My advice is to be *very* careful when standing the doll, and to not do it for long periods of time. Also, put socks on her feet beforehand, to reduce the friction of the soles on her feet.

I have a 145cm+ body with Lilith and Ruby heads. Their names are Meixiang (May) and Isabelle (Issy (only I'm allowed to call her that, or she gets mad

) respectively. Having sex with them is like having my own personal porn star/stripper. The 145cm body is very alluring. However, my next purchase will be the 168cm+ this fall.

The anal cavity is about 2 inches deep. It's much like having anal sex with a woman who has never had anal sex before. It's tight, and intense. Some guys like that. Some don't. I'm rather neutral on it, and I rarely have anal sex with May or Issy unless I'm feeling particularly kinky or something.

Harem, I have indeed seen your photos around - they're great! You do a wonderful job posing Chloe realistically and in some terrific locations. I expect it will be some time before I'm up for taking my girl out in public, but you never know, it could happen

deadpringle, thanks very much for the detailed info! Especially regarding heeled / platform shoes, as I definitely plan on including them in the wardrobe, and face poses.

I've already swapped a few emails with John from DS, so I think I'm well on my way to ordering. Hopefully this week!

Harem, since your doll I think is the closest proportionally to the 160+ I'm after, would you mind sharing clothing (bra, shirt, dress, panty, pants) sizes, as well as anything I should know about finding wigs (I assume those come in different sizes too, but honestly have no idea yet)?

Size S or XS is fine for stretchable things, possibly size 10 although you can't rely on it.

My advice is not to get too excited before she arrives. If you're that excited, get an inflatable first such as Kimmi Lovecock or Cayenne - the clothes for them will fit a 160+ - and then when your solid girl arrives you'll be amazed at her. It's been sad to see three people with great expectation announce the impending arrival of a wonderful brilliant DS doll and then either disappear, or put her on sale within a week, because the expectation has been different from a reality.

The problem is that dolls alive look so human - that's the fun of my photo stories with Chloe and friends, but they really don't move themselves. This comes as a shock to some people!

I agree with the answers above. I have 168+ with last years silicone. Baby powder works better than corn starch to make her smooth and stop the shine. I can't comment on the new silicone (yet)

The skeleton of all the DS girls literally has them stand apart from the others.They can stand on their own with a third point of contact, ie. hand on a chair or leaning against a fixed object, but use flat shoes. If you use the hang kit, the weight is off her feet so she can wear heels without the worry.

160+ or 168+? Here's a couple of pics of my Nikki

Harem, good point re: excitement. I know exactly what you mean, and I definitely do not want to fall into the category you described! Also thanks for the tips re: sizes, I'll add those to my growing notes!

Nice photos Dress Man! I've got some pretty ok photoshop skills, so erring on the side of using the wire / hook or other supports that can be removed in post production definitely seems like the way to go. 26kg is a lot of weight for it to support on its own!

It's great to get so much advice before I decide exactly what I'm going to order... Of course now that I've been comparing pics even more I'm really torn between the 160+ and the 158+... Decisions, decisions!

Having a 160+ (old 158) I'm torn between elegance of 160 and the sexyness of 158+ . . .

For you, perhaps a deciding factor might be weight. I prefer a doll at the 25-26kg end of things to the 30kg end of things - the extra 4-5 kilo makes a bit of a difference!

Very good point - after a bit more lunch-time picture gazing, I _think_ I'm still leaning towards the 160+.... But wow, may just need to start saving up for doll #2 in a hurry! The 160+ was what initially caught my eye, and the 4-5kg weight savings will definitely be a good thing for me as a 1st-time owner. I'll take every little advantage I can
