Even quality factory welds can break and something has broke, but it is only speculation until the owner cuts inside to see.
And usually the weld bead is fine but either the metal was not welded deep enough "too cold" and the bead broke loose or the weld was too hot and thinned the metal next to the bead allowing it to crack. Sometimes a bead will join to one side of the 2 pieces fine, but barely take to the other causing a weak weld.

Believe it or not, this is typical of DS. They care about their dolls. They care about their customers. They go completely out of their way to help their customers in any way they can. Considering the love and attention they put into their dolls, it's no surprise their customers fall in love with them too. :)

When my doll's back broke, I explained the damage that had occurred, and they made it right. I have no doubts about doing business with DS.

DollSweet, you guys are just awesome! :)

The welds in the pic above look sturdy enough to withstand some pretty good force. love to see a close up of the knee joint construction.

Yeh missed the one joint that actually breaks. The others are fairly strong welds. Circled in red is a weld that's particularly weak. This type of weld exists in several points on the doll and is susceptible to breaking. Never had to repair one before, but I'm going to guess that any member who has experienced a skeletal structure break observed that weld snapping.

That being said, dsdoll customer support IS awesome. They'll help you, I'm sure of it.

However, please keep in mind that buying a tube of sil-poxy is one of the best things you'll ever do for your doll. The vaginal walls are going to tear, and piercings (earrings included) you apply may stretch, and any parts that fall off or scrape away will need to be reapplied. Sil-poxy makes the job easy!

Take lots of pics, then send to DS, they will tell you what to do next (what/where to cut for further pics, etc). At the very least they will likely send you any bones/etc needed to replace what broke (without you having to do any welding)

If its a welding defect, from past stories here on the forum, they may very well replace the entire body for you for free. If its user error, they still will likely send you free repair parts, they are that awesome of a company. Be glad you bought DS as I doubt many other companies have anywhere near that level of service.

For the DS skeleton, as long as you where moving it in the right direction for the joint I doubt anything you could do would damage it before tearing the silicone off the bones! At least assuming their welder did things right. Welding is VERY VERY tricky to get right and there are so many different welding certifications, most things life critical get special ultrasonic/xray/dye testing after welding because even the best welders do screw up from time to time.

Remain calm, Remember that DS are here to help when you send them e-mails.

These pictures from Nova-1 makes it almost impossible to say no to the 168cm+:

DP - I can assure you that it's the 160+ you want. Promise.

Back on thread, the response of DS is exactly why over and over again those of us who have experienced a DS doll can recommend them wholeheartedly and especially to people for whom the choice of doll has to be 100% reliable first time.

Best wishes

I suspect there is a weld where the base of the vertical post connects to the yoke, but as I could not visibly see it, I did not want to claim it as such. There are other ways to attach it, but most likely a weld.

I'm curious. I would like to see what actually broke. seeing the photos of the skeleton above, Those welds look as they should be able to stand some pretty decent force even against the yoke. Tho the weld could break if weak, if there was a lot of force used then the break should have torn thru the leg. I'd be interested to know the construction specs.

Hi everyone,
First off thank you to John and DS Doll, this has got to be the best company of all companies in the world - and I don't say that lightly! Secondly thank you all for your advice in regards to my problem, it is nice to know that this community exists with such great members!

As you can imagine my problem has been resolved! I sent John pictures of the leg bent side to side, without the need to do surgery, and he agreed that the joint had snapped. He proceeded to tell me that he could send me a free repair kit, or could send me a new body for the cost of shipping and 30 percent of the dolls value and being able to keep my old doll. I changed from the 145 to the 145 minus and also from the stiff joints to loose. A small price to pay for such a costly doll. I am going to email him in a little while to see if he can send me the repair kit anyway... I would like to see if I could repair the broken knee joint!

To all of you who are considering buying a DS Doll, and have concerns about the integrity of the company, put your minds at ease an buy with confidence, John has assisted me in so many ways since I became part of the DS family. When I first researched their dolls, I must have sent him over a hundred emails and at least 150 questions from shipping concerns to eye color to larger heads on the 145 body (by the way, have 3 larger heads and one smaller head and I prefer the larger!!!) He also sent at my request 4 neck bolts so I could mount my heads when not in use, the list goes on. In conclusion DS Doll and John will go above and beyond to help out their clientele. Thanks again to all of you, and thank you to John and DS Doll for allowing me to get sleep again! :D :D :D :D

Glad to hear DS have come through for you!

Id still repair it before doing much with the doll, last thing you want is to repair nasty rips in the silicone from an unsupported leg. repairing clean cuts is much easier then tears.

Also best to check to see exactly how it failed, I am sure DS would be quiet interested to see pictures from your repair job, to see how the part failed so they can improve future dolls.
