The people getting offended by these artistic photos are a bit hypocritical. It's certainly an eye-catching set and a pleasant switch from the typical doll on bed photoshoot. If you find yourself offended, consider that some of the more close-minded people in the Shibari scene may feel that you should keep your pictures and talking about dolls behind closed doors as well. If you're just not into it, no one is forcing you to like it, and there are other galleries out there to look at and enjoy.

I too would like to know more about the processing done to get this effect. It's probably using the "add grain" filter combined with HDR and other effects, but it would be good to know more.

Loved it. My girlfriend loves to be tied up. It's a Bdsm thing, not forced. For those that find these images offensive, you have to remember, Bdsm is consentiual.

I'm not offended, I just question whether it's the smartest PR move, that's all.

Some of the offence taken from these pictures might be cultural confusion as well, and the cultural aspects of this kind of bondange might be misinterpreted.

There aren't many images of this doll circulated yet, and far be it from me to tell DS's marketing department how to carry out their jobs, but I wondered if the bondage could have been further down their priority list for publicity images ...

Now come on, please, somebody tell us how jiggly that backside is

This kind of Shibari/Kinbaku has been popular since the 1950s (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Japanese_bondage). If you or anyone else want to stage a moral panic about it, you missed your moment by about 65 years. Also, I think it's totally out of line to call people who enjoy consensual bondage "sociopaths". That's exactly the kind of generalized slur used against people who buy love dolls.

Lighten up, it's a silicone sex doll in a sexy (yes, to some people, but any kind of sex is only sexy to some people), heavily filtered photo set. There are massive amounts of things posted on this site I personally don't find the least bit sexy, but I'm not going to wag my finger at someone and call them names for it.

As far as this being good or bad marketing for DS, honestly, they should be so lucky as to generate a "controversial" press kerfuffle over an attractive product like the 170. That'd be publicity they couldn't buy. What would be the tag line? "Sex Doll in Bondage Photos SHOCK!" It'd be like trying to start a panic over a nude character appearing in a graphic novel.

As far as Jezebel, why are we supposed to have our sex lives circumscribed by them? What's that Camille Paglia line? "Leaving sex to the feminists is like letting your dog vacation at the taxidermist."

This is some really nice Photoshop work, DS. Usually people just slap on a filter and go with it but this kind of image takes a lot of work.

About the subject matter - bondage is a kink, people. That style of rope bondage is incredibly common in Japanese and other Asian porn. It's a fantasy. Much like the fantasy that we indulge in, which others will call a control or necro fantasy. Is that right? Don't kinkshame! It's a fantasy, nobody is getting hurt.

Of course this is said much more eloquently by rubyfan above.

the ds170 is the sexiest doll and love the cartoonish art styling. being all tied up is not my thing.. and it's all cool to those who like the faux bondage thing. and if ds wants to lead their marketing of their awesome 170 doll this way.. i have no complaints. let's hope the outside world is as understanding and slow to judge as us... and that me and MY doll does not get lumped into any "bondagegate" video series by some youtube pop critic.

It is artistic and I would guess only those in our doll community would know this is based on a doll, most outsiders would not have any idea, this is an actual doll.

Lust for Life states "but if you do not like this kind of stuff you can go somewhere else" which is obviously not a solution as this forum was meant to allow a community of like minded individuals to enjoy their hobby with like-minded individuals. The problems arise when things such as this cause concern with some of us that we are NOT like-minded with those who enjoy these photos or what they depict. Whether we find it morally or esthetically reprehensible is our individual choice. My suggestion is that there are should be sub-forums, members only, who sign in and view such images, so that the rest of us aren't painted with the same brush. Then the doll manufacturer who wants to appeal to this group of people can post their pictures privately, without destroying their public relations amongst those of us who are offended. I had been considering DS dolls for some time as they have wonderful faces, but they have lost me as a potential customer and does that affect their bottom line in the long run? Obviously not. But I believe that there are others like me, who prefer to deal with companies not of that ilk. So while I will not "go somewhere else', as so rudely suggested, I will in the future not intentionally click open a DS site.
