DS Loose Joint Demonstration Video
Here are two videos of me showing the range of motion on my DS 145 Plus with loose joints. The first video shows mostly above the waist movement, and the second goes into the legs and abdomen.

Re: DS Loose Joint Demonstration Video
I can see how the loose joints can be more natural.
Also the gaping of the insert is not good for photography .
She is a very sexy lady.
The one thing I liked was how well she can bend .
One position I did not see was how she manages up right in her knees ( cowgirl ) do the knees support her like the elbows do or do they slide out from underneath her?
Again very well done sir

Re: DS Loose Joint Demonstration Video
Just remember the true difference between loose and tight joints is that loose joints won't hold the pose.

Re: DS Loose Joint Demonstration Video
Really answered the question about loose or tight.
Thank you
Re: DS Loose Joint Demonstration Video
I think id find loose joints annoying. Thanks for the video, You have helped me decide more firmly on tight joints for my dolls.]
And I think no finger wires for my next doll.. Its really so nice not to have to straighten all the fingers after every single time the fingers just happen to touch anything. I don't really do photography as much as I would have liked so.
Re: DS Loose Joint Demonstration Video
The creaking in the video is from my bed. DS dolls with tight joints tend to creak as they loosen up, but her loose joints glide with ease with no sound when repositioning.

Re: DS Loose Joint Demonstration Video
I wonder how far backward her neck can bend. In your video, you only demonstrated her neck bending forward. It is critical to know the limit when bending backward. Forward bending is not a problem since the bending will come to stop when the chin touches the chest. I did not find this kind of demo. in the DS website. Thanks!

Re: DS Loose Joint Demonstration Video
The pictures included show her balancing on her knees without support, and the position where the neck can no longer bend backward.
The neck looks like it has the same limitations as bending it to the side, where it won't go beyond a few inches (probably less than a 35 degree angle).

Re: DS Loose Joint Demonstration Video
You'll have to let me know if the creaking starts on yours, my 160 creaks and squeaks so bad from the legs I've nicknamed here minnie. I've gone as far as looking into some kind of oil syringe to maybe help out? I think a long needle would be pretty easy to oil the joints just not sure if that would solve the issue for long.Sate wrote:The loose joints do make dressing her a little easier compared to my other DS with tight joints, mainly due to the arms and legs being easier to manipulate (if the arm gets stuck pulling it through a long-sleeve dress or shirt, you can easily move it and get it through without much effort, while with tight joints you may need to stop and use both your arms to move her arm or bend it at the elbow some more to get it to fit).

And thanks for the videos, they do show off the loose joints better than DS's 30 second flops.
