Finger "broken"

Post by bobsik »

My DS 145 had an accident with her finger bone in her ring finger on her left hand. I can feel the bone is no longer connected with the metal plate in her hand. She can still bend her ring finger without any problems but she is not good to hold a pose.

If I don't repair her finger, is there then a higher risk of further broken fingers or getting pokes in the ring finger or palm?

Is there a picture available of what a hand looks like inside?

Can I repair her without cutting in her?

If I need to cut, where ought I to do that if I want to leave the smallest scar?

Hi bobsik,

here is a picture from the palm / finger connection:

Red marks are where the wires of my 145 right hand are broken (slammed her hand into a door frame).
So far they are still posable but cannot hold anything. There is no poking anywhere in 9 months.
I did not attempt to repair this because I have no idea how given the fact it broke at the palm plate.
Without cutting open repair is not possible.
Cheers

Both my DS girls have multiple broken finger wires and like GirlsGang, I've never repaired 'em and have had no poke issues yet. (2+ years and still poke free)

Thanks GG ... I've always wanted to know how the hands were constructed. Looking at the pic I now understand why the breakage happens so easily.
Can I repair her without cutting in her?
Probably not. :(
:glou:
Cheers!

Thanks GG for this picutre!
I also didn't know about the palm/finger connection and the obvious filigree construction.
Miahs fingers are still intact but it looks like I have to pay more attention on her hands in the feature.
