My DS Mini Also Has Broken Back

Not yet, I'm afraid! I'm still trying to sort out the 'creaking' as it's not good having plastic to plastic creak! I've tried PTFE tape which works OK but isn't really the answer!
My new WM168 arrived Monday so I've been a little preoccupied!

My 3 DS Minis sometimes creak - and only 1 has been repaired. I do not see that as an issue as posing is a gentle process, no forcing and follow the rules in the manual.

I know you see yours as an Art doll like I do mine, so a little creaking is no big deal. It's a cracking sound that I dread, lol.

I'm glad the story has an happy ending, i can't believe how beautiful pictures you make, i followed yours every where.

But this is something i'm noticing on many doll's faces, why they make them sort of like with a sad expression?

They may look sad from afar but close up they're not! They all seem to have they're own expression and their faces are beautiful. There's a cheeky little smile there! ......and those eyes can melt your heart!

OK, I'm having a break from building work for a couple of days and started again on Yong. I can't believe how much crap she's picked up on her inside and out! She's absolutely covered in tiny bits of stuff that seems to have come from nowhere! I'll have to think how I can clean her before closing her up again! Using some gaffer tape rolled into a ring sticky side out seems to work but it's a slow process!
On another note, I put back a joint in the hip again and there was a crack! My heart sank but it was the lug on the actual joint rather than the hip/pelvis. I'd used the old one which must have been damaged. Luckily I have several of those joints now so tried samara's trick of superglue on the washers and it worked!
There isn't room to get the lock nuts in I'd got especially so it's back to the trial and error method of just being tight enough on all the joints to hold a pose but not too tight to make movement difficult. Testing everything I have found she has a very loose left elbow (fortunately not broken) but her lower arm won't stay out in front. That will have to wait for now.....at least there's no damage there!
The silicone seems to have gone back into the grooves of the pelvis/hip pretty well and she has her cute little bum back! No gluing yet as somehow I'm going to have to get all those tiny bits out and off her first. She's really sticky at the moment and she must be a magnet for them. However, I really don't know how she got covered as she had a blanket over her. Ah well, no rest for the wicked, better get back to cleaning her!

Glad to hear she is on her way to being whole again. Try white cotton sheets, you might just be getting that chit from the blanket.

Wash her with a mild detergent and powder her. The lint and stuck on dust should fall right off.

Yeah, thanks Sam, I just had to give her a bath in the end!
Trouble is, she had to get wet inside as well so it'll take a while to make sure she's dry before I attempt to close her up again! The nuts, bolts and washers may rust otherwise!
I'm trying to make a 'tent' out of clear plastic at the moment as she's getting stickier by the minute again! I'll need her that way for the SilPoxy to work properly - as I don't want powder to get in the way!

If I had to keep one of my minis in a stable environment and had the space. I would clean a spot, where I could work, on a table. Take one of my silver cases. Place the top on the table, bottom up. Set the pads down (because my cases are tapered top to bottom they will fit nicely). Lay my mini down. Then when done the bottom becomes the top, and will lock into place.

To remove is easy also. Just push one end of the top on the bottom and lift slightly, then push on the other and it will come right off.

If my wife was not sitting here, right now, I would have Blossom show you what I mean.

When I shook the blanket it was full of rubbish so I'm keeping hard surfaces over her at the moment which can be wiped down easily!

Unfortunately we don't have a Walmart in the UK (at least as far as I'm able to find), they took over a supermarket chain here called Asda but those stores are mainly for groceries.
