PRE-PURCHASE EXPERIENCE
DSDoll has several international websites. I'm currently in Asia.
The DS site in my country is really just a reseller and general sex-(toy)-shop. After two days of emailing I got no response from them, so moved on. The US site is probably the most comprehensible but they're missing some dolls and don't have as many pictures. So I limped along with the Chinese site and Google Translate - this takes some real effort and the willingness to explore.
Someone on TDF hooked me up with email address for John (sales@dsdoll.com), he was extremely responsive (most replies within a matter of 2hr). I was able to get price / availability for my doll from him. However it's not like a site where you can check off items (fingernails, wig, insert type, finger bones etc)... Essentially you 'don't know what you don't know' - his responses were great - but I'm not sure I was able to get all the customization that were possible for my doll. Could I have changed heads? What are fingerbones? Which heads provide oral? I'll never know.
I think it would benefit everyone if John had a template email, even a spreadsheet that showed options - that way when someone first requests info on a doll they will better understand what they're buying. But that's only a suggestion.
He advised the doll was $1,676 and $521 shipping. The shipping is a bit surprising since I assume it's coming from China to a close asian neighbor. I ship furniture from Shenzhen all the time at no-where near this cost. But - them the rules.
I guess. I paid $321 in advance (Paypal). John advised it would 1 - 3 weeks for doll creation and 4-7 days for shipping.PURCHASE
I paid via Paypal and sent the confirmation ID. He again responded quickly.
Now I get to wait! I was hoping (as course as any of us would) that the 1 - 3 week timeframe would be closer to 1 week. It's now been 16 days and I'm told (I requested status) the body is done, but still waiting on the head - pictures forthcoming.
A few notes:
- - An English version of the Chinese website would cost little, (less than one doll) and would further open up sales to the Asian region (or those that prefer to order from the site
- It's not clear what I can customize (fingernail color? makeup color? hair on pubes? for instance I wanted no pubes an each fingernail to have a different color - who knows what I will get.
- Customizations are weak on all their sites - no closeups etc.
- I fell in love with the doll on their site, and unfortunately the wig she was shown in isn't available, it's one they bought just for the photoshoot, I had to order a generic 'brown wig' instead of the beautiful strawberry blonde one. I wish they would either just show the dolls with their real accessories - or make the accessories available
- Insert lengths weren't shown on the site - they appear to have a 5" and 9" version.. As far as I know the average dick length is greater than 5" an far less than 9" - why not just offer a 6" an 8" model? (I went with the 9")
- All DS are inserts only - can't wait till they offer an in-built model. They offered to 'glue the insert into the doll' - but I figured the insert would be the first to wear out, so declined.
- I didn't see any real accessories for sale, I was interested in clothing, second wigs, sil-poxy etc.. but really, you're on your own.
- Could I have purchased a second head? Would that have been included with the shipping costs again - no idea...
- I would love pictures of my doll during the molding process, I'm interested - as to me it's a bit of work of art. Would have LOVED to get a few pics every 7 days to show progress.. It would have made a good buying experience - great.
