Hi mossy! Yeah, DS have had a different way of measuring dolls compared to other manufacturers for some reason known only to themselves! I think the latest models measure from head to heel but certainly most of the previous models seem to be head to centre foot or even head to toes! My DS100 minis are about 95cm head to heel!

using Karrot's posted measurement and the DS website i believe i have cracked the code. they are measuring the dolls from a suspended position with toes pointed towards the ground. using the listed length of the feet on DS's website and subtracting that from the listed doll body gives you an idea of the actual measurement head to heel.
160cm-21cm=139cm
139cm=54.72 inches

Well you assumed that her feet are vertical when the doll is in suspended position, it is not like that
Realistically the true height must be about 1.50 cm
Whatsoever it is not acceptable, in my opinion, that DS does not declare the true measures

There is not a DS measuring system, there is one only system to measure the doll's height :x

The point is that height is a key feature
Most people want a realistic doll but they are scared of her weight thus a lot of them switch to 145
Most of them would be disappointed if they get let's say an about 135 cm tall girl

In my opinion Doll Forum should oblige DS to quote the true measures

DS height measurement is a bit of a mess.
To sum it up from the many posts about it on the forum:
The DS145, DS163(was called 168 before) and DS167(was called 170 before) is now listed right
This means that the DS145 is about 145cm from bottom of the heel to top of head.
The DS163 is about 163cm.
And the DS167 is about 167cm.

The two other models, DS160 and DS158 on the other head are listed wrong.
I Don't know exactly how they measure them but, from measurement made by forum user here, and confirmed by Karrot measurement of his DS160+ doll, these two model seems to be around 5/6 cm shorter then the listed height.
So the DS160 is actually around 155cm from bottom of the heel to top of head.
And the DS158 is around 153cm.

Hope this helps...

Good to know that. So 145 cm isn't 145 cm...
Whatever, my Miah is tall enough.

Hi Mossy. Surprised to see you are in the market for a silicone doll, but DS is a good choice.

I bought mine in Jan 2015 when her model name was 168. I expected her to be 168cm. She was not. [Ed: One year] later due to customer complaints (including mine!) they changed the model names of the 168 to 163, and the 170 to 167, as Rick says above. The new model names are mostly accurate to actual height they way normal folks measure it, but there is still some small variation. DS makes such a great doll that there is no excuse for the misleading names and confusion; an avoidable stain on an otherwise reputable brand.

All told, I can tell you that my DS has exceeded all expectations for durability and #SynthetikLiving. Her skeleton is exceptional. In fact, even after nearly two years she can hold every single pose that she could on day one! I don't do photography, but my gal is part of my everyday life so she moves daily and never spends time in one spot for very long.

With DS, just expect that whatever you receive is going to be smaller than you are imagining. I was initially disappointed in how petite my doll's frame is in addition to the unexpectedly shorter height. Compared to a high-end silicone doll she looks more like a teenager than a woman, but... there is a weight advantage that accompanies that. That one issue aside, I do enthusiastically recommend Doll Sweet.

Sorry LDV, I know I am being picky correcting you (my OCD kickin in) but when I got my Nikki 2.0 in November 2015 she was still the 168+

I also found this thread posted by Doll Sweet Feb 18 2016 announcing the name change http://www.dollforum.com/forum/viewtopi ... 43&t=69461

I mean no disrespect, but prefer to see correct information stated.

Like LDV, I highly recommend DS. They are beautiful.

Dude Man: acknowledged! I misremembered when the change was officially made. A year later! Post corrected. Thanks for keeping the details clear.

Hey - the 5cm they might miss out on in height they sure make up in character. That character adds 10cm to their persona.

I'm glad this came up because I was wondering about the actual height of the 163. I had hoped that 163cm was actually an exaggerated figure because I love the body, but with that height, she'd stand at practically the same height as my 5'4". I want to order a DS next year, so it looks like I'm going to go for a 145, because I'd really prefer my doll to be at least 3 or 4 inches shorter than me.

This works out fine as far as the body is concerned because I do like the look of the 145. But, I really do like the Yolanda face and would love it if it were possible to combine the two. I know that doing so isn't recommended by DS, but I'm curious bout this particular combination. Reason being: I've noticed that the Yolanda head in particular seems fairly small even when paired with the larger bodies for which it was designed. It seems like it this head might be small enough to look acceptably proportionate on a 145 body. Would anyone happen to know if this is indeed the case?
