I would recommend DS dolls. I bought a used one, a 145+, about 3 years old. She has tight joints and man, even though she is 3 years old she is still nice and tight movement wise. Better than my first doll I bought new about a year and a half ago. And the insert is a snap to clean. I just use antibacterial hand soap and hot water. Then, I use an air mattress pump to dry and it only takes about 5 minutes to completely dry. No fuss no muss. See my doll drying thread in my signature. I am currently saving up for a DS 160+. Can't wait till i have the dough for her.

It's comforting to hear that these dolls can last years! I use a pretty similar drying system for my current inserts too. Important is to get a steady airflow inside the cavity.

I'd like a 163/167 too but I thought that going with 145 first would be a good stepping stone. I think 20kg what I can currently handle in a way that makes everything from care to activities not be a massive pain in the butt.

Must admit I just turn Xiaoli's insert inside out to clean and dry it.

And that hasn't teared the insert? My worry was that turning the insert inside out would stress it to the point of tearing.

Yeah. I use an aquarium pump rather than turning the insert inside out. I'm worried about tearing it since it's so soft.

never had an issue with the insert tearing. i have an older 2014 and a newer 2016 insert for Xiaoli and both can be inverted for cleaning. Yes, it pays to be careful but both the older harder one and the new super soft one turn inside out without much effort.

I ripped a new soft insert (2015) while turning it inside out for cleaning. :(
I stopped turning them inside out after that. :)

Yeah I think there is a difference in the new ones. I wrote DS and they told me not to turn the new ones inside out.
