Can anyone post a close up of the hook on the back of the neck? Can you remove and reattach it?

BJ...
It's not really a "hook", but rather a large eyelet or circle of metal at the end of a threaded bolt which is referred to as a "neck bolt". And, yes, it can be screwed into and out of the doll's neck. One has to mount a hanging bracket on his wall which has a hook on it that the eyelet fits onto and which then suspends the doll in its recommended vertical storage position.
When I first saw a photo of this neck bolt, I was turned off by it. It appears as piece of metal suddenly emerging from the doll's neck and looks quite unnatural. Fortunately, if the doll's wig is long, it will cover up the neckbolt.
I think one should always remove this neck bolt before "using" the doll. There was a member here a while ago that described how he was having sex with his doll in some sort of reverse cow girl position. Then, somehow, the doll fell on him and the neck bolt, which he had not removed, actually struck him in the face close to his eye! If it had hit him in the eye, it might have resulted in a nasty occular injury.
It would be nice if Abyss made some sort of small flesh colored plug that one could insert into the hole after the neck bolt was removed to hide the hole. This plug could also prevent any water from entering the doll when it was surmerged in water.

RaDiv...
That neck bolt looks larger than I remember seeing in another photo. Is it the standard sized one that comes with a new RD?

Thats a 3/8" forged eye-bolt that RaDiv shows...its the bolt that has allways been in use. My doll has the same one. To my knowledge its a high strenght bolt. In industry you would find such a bolt threaded into electric motors, gear casings and so on, used as a lifting lug.

Could probably get a silicone skin sample of the same tone and cut out a circle and use it to plug the neck wound.

Why bother with a plug? Unless the doll has a butch hair cut, even short hair will cover the hole.

I think its not possible, technoguy. The shape and size of the hole changes when the dolls moves her head forward and back. The silicone is soft. Rommie's long hair covers the neck hole, but Doyle's short hair doesn't. The hole is covered by the collar of the shirt in this pictures: http://www.dollalbum.com/dollgallery/th ... album=1264CJD wrote: Thats a 3/8" forged eye-bolt that RaDiv shows...its the bolt that has allways been in use. Sure that's a high strength bolt? I think Rommie's bold starts to bend.

I'm not suggesting some sort of flesh colored bolt that would thread into the hole, but rather some simple little cork-like affair with an overlapping dome of silicone on its top. It would not be threaded into the hole in the silicone skin of the doll, but would simply be pressed into place and manually pulled out when it was time to thread the hanging neck bolt into the doll's skeleton so it could be hung up for storage.
I think these neck bolt hole plugs could be made so cheaply that several of them (nice to have some spares) could be INCLUDED with the "standard" RD at no extra cost.

That might be nice, but I don't think they would get a lot of use. With a doll that has long hair its really out of sight - out of mind. I never take Zara's bolt out, even in bed, and its never been an issue. The only reason I would ever take it out was for a photo in a high collared jacket or top that would be pulled out of shape by the bolt jutting out the back.

I use these in bed cause the wife snores... they are very soft and might be able to plug the hole for a short time...
