Hi everybody,

The head of my Boytoy is falling down.I tried to open the skull to tighten the head.Impossible to understand wich key I need  :!: Is it for an alen key :?:

I bought today all the sizes of alen keys : impossible to screw on .The more little is too little and the other one is too big : I used an "1,5" alen key ( too little ) and an "2" alen key ( too big )

I've got the impression that the "hole" is sealed like a hallmark ...

What should I do :?:

I saw a Realdoll on my forum and it's easier because there is nuts

Thanks.

Louis

Hey Louis,

I'm not sure but are you using standard allen key's ??? Might be that they are metric ... That what it sounds like.

You better contact Joe at sales@boytoydolls.com and describe your problem.

Got exactly the same problem but couldn't see it as a 'screw' thought it was crimped.Whatever you do, do not try anything until Joe gives the answer, if it's a torx screw and you try an allen key you'll ruin the socket.

I don't think an allen key or umbraco key, as they are called in Europe, will solve this problem. It's not a screw, it's some sort of rivet. Ask Joe before you do anything. By the way, metric is millimeters, centimeters and meters. All bolts and screws on a BT are in inches.

Hello louislane31 !
You can not thighten this with any tool, it is fixed.
The only thing you can do is to take a dremel and remove the seal, then replace it with ordinary bult and nut.
It worked fíne for me :)

I forgot....
The only thing Abyss could do is to send you a new neck joint and then you have a difficult work in front of you to change this. Everyone who have tried this know.
Also if they do not have fixed the problem you will have a risk that it after a while get loose again.

This is a common issue on BT dolls but could be corrected in later versions (only Abbyss can tell). On earlier dolls there was a ordinary nut so you have the possibilty to thighten this when it if it got loose. I do not know the reason why this was changed.

I'll try and get time to have a look in the morning to see if it's feasible to drill out the centre/ fit a small bolt/friction washers/ nyloc nut, without removing the original main fixing. The nodding head syndrome has been really annoying when trying to take pics.

I know how you feel, as I am the same way. However being on the opposite side of the continent from the manufacturer and 14 hours drive and a border to the nearest competent Doll Doc, I will soon have to tackle, an eyelash, finger pokes, a couple mouth rips, and maybe even a recore on an older doll.

It is indeed scarey ;)
