Don't just place doll on carpet and drag her in and out. You'll tear the TPE to shreds. TPE is not meant to be slid across high friction materials like carpeting.
Yeah, I plan to build a wooden box to store her in with cushioning.

So for example if she was just lying on average carpet, she would be around 25cm perhaps?

Also, another question - would you be able to measure and tell me how tall she is WITHOUT the head?

Any help is most appreciated, thanks.
I'd say that depends on the carpet, but I'm not that familiar with carpet ;) but yeah probably not more than that!
Just measured her standing with her head on, but without counting the bolt about 137-138 cm.
Getting ready for another cleaning session...been a while unfortunately...

Hey I've got a question for you guys:
I'd really like to take a shower with her, but with the feet bolts I've been holding back on that. Any tips on how I might be able to do this without getting her feet (and maybe neck) screw/bolt rusty? *p.s. it also seems like maybe practical for cleaning, does anyone do that (cleaning her while in the shower) ??

Hey avante,

The best method for cleaning a doll with standing option is on my opinion, to wash the doll just in the shower!
Why?
It's the fastest and easiest method.
After drying you can easy oil your doll and then prepare for powdering. Three in one without filthy hassle.
All body parts are good reachable!

I use some plastic caps to protect the holes

Additional you can use a rubber ring and push over the caps.
But normally the elastic TPE is enough to prevent from water coming in.
You can also use some water resistant plasters on the bolts and/or get her feets in a plastic bag - closing with a rubber ring.
Even some water gets in the holes you can dry it afterwards

As I am close to pulling the trigger myself, Ive found this thread to be fascinating reading. Lots of useful advise.

The joints do seem to be a major design flaw though. Has anyone considered a ball joint, perhaps, even enveloped in closed cell foam to reduce friction and distribute the weight better?

Good to hear hahaha that occurred to me quite late ;p
Think I'll go for the plastic bag option. Thanks for the tips!

Hey jsomm,

Really glad to read you found the topic useful!

The joint really could have been protected out of the factory quite easily, like the way you mention. Kinda sucks they dont protect the TPE from this.
I'll consider, I just kinda look upto opening her up and making adjustments...tho pretty soon (hopefully) I'll fix her hand...if all goes well that is

Last night I left her standing in high heels...

Was wondering if there are some usrs who have negative experience with this: does it 'hurt' the skeleton?
Any other reason why possibly not to do this?

Also left her with some (lighter) clothes one...figure it probably would not h'hurt' either right?

I can't see why one night would hurt. I don't think I'd stand a doll in heels every night though. Over time that could cause some problems - or perhaps none at all. I wouldn't take the chance myself though.

Lighter, not staining clothes would not be a problem. You could go months (maybe years) this way.
