Wigs for WMdolls?

Post by MickeyM »

Are different wigs available through them? If not, how are they attached to their heads, and would wigs from other vendors work on the WM dolls? I REALLY like a number of wigs that are available on other sites dolls....

Thank You in advance for any help/suggestions/etc! :)

Yes you can order the various wigs from them and they have the benifit of being the correct size for your model. The wigs just slip on the bald head of your doll. I have a blue, blonde and the brown wig that came with my terri model (her name is Dalai). The blue and blonde wig i bought here in town one at a porn store the other at a wig store and they are both quite large for my doll. The brown one that came with her fits perfectly, so i would go with ordering an extra wig or two from them with ypur doll. Although the wig still does wander a bit in the trongs of passion, lol.
I think therefore,
I try not to.

Good advice from 4biddenartist. The heads for the 125cm doll are definitely smaller than a standard size wig you might buy elsewhere. On the 1am website, I notice that there is only one wig (the brown one) that is offered for that size doll, whereas all three are offered for a 135cm doll.

Hi MickeyM, :D

Wigs from most vendors should also work fine. Most wigs that are available from vendors will come in size "average" to fit most people's (or dolls) heads.
Size small and large are also sometimes available from wig shops, but rarely needed (unless she has a really small/huge head).

If a certain wig doesn't fit snug enough, you can usually find straps in the back of most wigs that can be pulled tight and hooked for a better fit. :multi:

Maybe I'm cheap, but I take advantage of the current Halloween sales. Bobby pins help keep them on. I just purchased 3 new wigs for 10 bucks each.

It's true, Costume shops sell wigs of all sizes. Kids wigs for Halloween outfits are pretty intense these days, you can find some flashy wigs at costumecraze.com.

The circumference of a 125cm head is 19 inches and a petite size wig is 21 inches. Tighten the straps. When shopping look for the mention of straps.

Any one else getting stains from black wig straps? Before I left the wig on loose no proble, except it would fall off when i moved Joy (WMDoll)
After using the straps I have stains on the back of the head and for some reason a little on one ear and temple. I now have on a plastic wig cap, can not keep it tight, but maybe prevent further stains.

I hope the stain remover helps. 1AM says it is on order,

harvey, I am working on getting my girl, and have never had a doll before so I can't be of much help to ya', my friend. I really hope that the stain remover works out perfectly for you! I will be sure to keep your problem in mind in case mine does that, since she will have a black wig too...

I also hope that someone with experience with black (or any color) wigs will jump in!

Ewood was having success with baking soda, here's a thread about it: http://dollforum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=215&t=56028
There is some good information there. Good luck!

I tried the baking soda, did not see much difference. The baking soda dries out so I do not know how that would work. I would think it needs to stay moist but who knows.

Hi harvey, did you look at ewood's thread? http://dollforum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=215&t=56028

He uses lots of baking soda, like a box full, in a bowl, with just a little bit of water, and makes a thick paste out of it. He rubs it on the doll in abundance, and then it takes time ... leave it on for a couple days, and see what happens...

Yes I did, still wonder how dried baking soda can do much, Mine dried out in 2-3 hours.

Keep the baking soda moist by wrapping it with some saran wrap
