WM new doll odours and privacy
WM new doll odours and privacy
Ive heard the odour can last for a week up to 8 weeks. I have specifically read that the odour can be so intense in the beginning that it would be impossible to hide from a nosy wife. I live in a basement with a family that lives up stairs. they are my landlords and the have children over 10. In my room I have Complete privacy if I need it but I could see the landlady embarrassing me with questions about the odour and maybe getting fed up and searching my room. Its just the dynamics I live with and for the better part it works. I get the benefit of living in a "home" with a loving family for minor privacy trade offs.
I would be willing to move out just to get a doll.
Doll owners that live alone. is COMPLETE privacy in every way essential.
Doll owners that dont live alone how do you live with other people too and not freak them out or get caught in a 3 am photo shoot in your room? If you say "well it depends on what you plan to do with your doll" my answer would be to just hang out not do elaborate photo shoots. sit and watch movies. And wrestle in the sheets.
I subscribe to the theory of "maybe you should not have been snooping and you wouldn't have found my playboys" but thats a stretch when it comes to a doll situation.

You have to get fairly close to smell it and it's temporary. Obviously it depends on the manufacturer but my WM and D4E did not smell much after about 2-4 weeks. Give a few extra washings in the the beginning - this seems to help.
As far as the upstairs neighbors, just do what I did and tell everyone! Lol, kidding but I have told my roomies as I hate hidding stuff and to my surprise they were totally cool with it, just lucky I guess.
Cheers,

Yes, very true.onenrmlone wrote:If I didn't live completely by myself, there is no way I would have gotten a doll. My current situation allows for complete privacy, so that's the only way it was workable for me.
I told my wife before buying dolls, she endorsed the idea, and now we feel at ease with them around.
I do prefer privacy when filming them however, as I don't like her watching me photo them in sexual positions.
I also told my parents, so I don't have to hide them when they are around, but I will not have them around with neighbors coming by!

If you had to create an elaborate story of why you were just delivered a box the size of a grandfather clock that when opens smells like citrus febreeze all through the house for 4 weeks where would you start.

Fuck everyone else...keep your place locked up. If you are not hurting anyone or bringing them into your own private element, thenJust a Dollup wrote:I want to buy my first doll however I have some reservations.

make sure they stay out of your business and private life...and that includes intruding into your personal space. Your space is your space...no one else's. Your home whether its a basement, a room, whatever...is your home and life and personal sanctuary...protect it at all costs. If people pry...ask you whats going on in there...tell them its none of their business. I know its hard to be an asshole sometimes to ignorant people...but when it comes down to it you have to look out for yourself, and protect yourself. If that means people thinking you are a rude shrewd then so be it. At least you will be able to live in comfort within your own walls. Anyways, touchy subject for me...might have gone a bit off track. Bottom line...your personal and private space is sacred....whether rented or owned...protect it, and keep nosy ass fuckers out of it. Good luck

If you are able to leave her out and naked for a few days or more, this should help speed up the process.
I can say for sure the smell is not nearly as strong as any decent green.
I struggled with the whole "hey what's in that giant box?" Question too. I'm glad I had the package held at the depot, so at least I could some what control when I brought it home. The only thing I could really think of to say is it was a large area rug or maybe shelving, but then if it's someone who might actually come into your place you have to go and buy that too!
But then I realized I'm just another person bringing something I bought home...

Yeah, rented space is still your space, part of what you pay for is privacy...its none of their business. You said there are kids around? Kids have no concept of respect, if at all possible they will snoop around where they do not belong...so, dont EVER leave that door unlocked, even when you aren't in there. You can buy a doorknob with a lock on both sides and a key for it at Walmart for like $30-40... I suggest you do that

thanks for your reply. the kids and fam are pretty respectful. Its more like this. The outside windows were being washed and they knew I was home and knocked on my door and bla bla bla. If i was to leave the doll out with no clothes on I would be mortified and have to move out. which i really should just do.
I think I need to think this through for a few more weeks. I cant help over reacting to everything but ill share this. after exploring this forum and learning about how much ppl care about their girls really grounded me. The thought of having anything better than just a "fleshlight" and porn hub. Something like a nice big tpe hug to sink into after coming home from work... This has changed my depression immensely recently.
I have read some new owners are shocked at how their doll has a "presence" in the room especially when they first get the doll. That some owners had to adjust to the realness of the doll before they could dive in.THAT blows me away.
Since I joined this forum and completed my tour of lurking, I have woke up with excitement. For the past year, just waking up has been a challenge. I've been exercising, and with enthusiasm. I dont NEED to smoke weed to numb my loneliness for the time being. In the back of my head I know what I want would just be a doll (i also know you get what you give when it comes to these girls) and the other back of my head says its ok with that. maybe its just a little intrigued.

You could talk to a couple of vendors and ask them if they could possibly store your doll for you for a month or so, until the "new doll smell" wears off. And then have it delivered to you. I don't know if anyone is willing to do this of course, it was just a thought. It might be worth looking into. I know that we, MSLD, can not offer this option though.

Re: WM new doll odours and privacy
You should be far more worried about people bursting into your private space WAY more than the un-boxing scent of a doll. Your landlords should give you reasonable privacy and at least alert you well ahead of time if they are planning on entering (check on utility issue for example). If they are just bursting into your bedroom/living area at say 3am unannounced to 'see what you are doing'...you need to get the fuck out now! No reasonable landlord does that to a tenant!
I do have the luxury of living alone. No one would have access to my house or bedroom unless I specifically let them in. However, I do cover them on my bed daily when I leave for work. It's a minor security feature/peace of mind. This obviously doesn't work if you're a proper 'make the bed daily, proper tuck in tight corner military style make the bed'. After I wake up, I simply pull the comforter/blankets over the doll and you can't even tell she's under there. It's saved my ass a few times. I've become so used to dolls over the years I forget the social implications they may have. For example I had a contractor come over to do some bids on interior work, I walked him into the bedroom and I instantly had a mini panic realizing my doll was right on the bed, but under comforters/blankets on a 'semi unmade bed' if that makes sense. Contractor didn't bat an eye. I imagine it would have been an awkward moment had I not had the doll covered. Also had a buddy over one night and we got a bit to drunk, and we decided to have a campfire outside. I walked into my bedroom to grab a hoodie and he followed me in. Again a minor panic attack, but comforter/blankets over the ladies saved the day. You honesty can hide them in plain sight this way. No sense boxing/unboxing/closeting them unless you live with MANY people who are daily in your private bedroom.
