Introducing Mardi, wm140A

Post by ExMachina »

First of all, many thanks to all who have posted on this forum and without whom this first-time doll-owner would probably never have taken the plunge, for lack of the ability to make an informed decision, if for no other reason. I've yet to see a forum so free of ego, petty rivalries, flame wars, etc. At the same time you'd be hard-pressed to find a forum with such variegated tastes. The love doll community is without question one of the most tolerant I've ever experienced.

The first hurdle you have to get over as a doll owner is the taboo of doll ownership. This taboo will lessen over time, but the prospect of being discovered with your mysterious silicon or TPE "lodger" makes the decision to go forward with the purchase of a love doll a weighty decision for many of us, and not without certain risks. First you need to get over your own sense of personal weirdness for owning such a thing and spending so much money on it. It's not rational, but neither is owning a Harley.

For me, once I got over that taboo, my next biggest concern was whether I would get bored with this doll once its novelty wore off, as I have a bad habit of doing with practically every other object and sometimes humans in my life. After about 6 months, I can say that, while the honeymoon is over, my interest is still there. This is a relief. Not only did I not squander a good chunk of change but I don't have to worry about how to dispose of a very human-looking cadaver.

So here is Mardi, WM140A:

Sunny--
She does indeed look like Norah's sis. BTW, I checked out your Norah link, really lovely pictures, some of the best I've seen on this forum, great use of shadow and depth. Personally I'm struggling with how to avoid a hot yellow white balance under shadowy or low light conditions, even using a fast F1.4 prime and artificial light. Your white balance is really great.
