My WM 160D modded torso

Post by Shaeffer »

Just recieved my first doll today! I started with a torso, and to nobody's surprise I already have a full sized doll.
So now I have a (new to me) WM 160D, who I'll call Janine!

She doesn't yet have a head but that's ok considering what I'd like to try to do!
First off will be trying my hand at tpe repair. (Really needed on both the torso and her)
Later on I'm going to try creating my own head! And if everything goes well I hope it will be worthy of the Fantasy Otherworld League! ;)

I purchased from another member on here (here's the sale thread if you're itching for more pics viewtopic.php?f=122&t=141548).

All the pictures show her quite a bit lighter than she is. It's the "Tan" tpe, and when I pulled her out of the box I was pleasantly surprised!
I tried to get a close up of the colour to better show what it's like in person:

And ohmygod the boobs. Hollow boobs are so much better than solid. I do wish they were bigger though. So while I'm attempting repairs I'll be trying the ol cotton ball trick to increase the bust measurement. ;)

Progress will probably be slow, but stay tuned!

Repairing such tears is not easy. I hope you can share some tips or even videos about how you fix it. You may need a TPE chuck with a matching color at least.

The body looks nice and is definitely worth the effort.

Good luck!

Thanks! I'll do my best! I have a big piece of tpe that came with her; it should make it a little easier.

Hi Shaeffer!
Actually repairing TPE tears is not as difficult as it used to be.. We have ways now to do that. If you go to my channel (the link is in my signature) I have videos on how to repair TPE tears, resurface the skin and all other sorts of repairs and modifications. That is what I do is modify dolls into fantasy characters. I have a blue elf doll that is in the states now and should be home next week, that I am turning into an undine. Textured mottled colored skin, webbed hands and feet, fangs, maybe a tail (haven't decided yet), claws, custom wig and eyes.

You will need to get some supplies to work on your doll. Fortunately I have a video on things you will need, as well.. If you have any questions or need any help, feel free to contact me..
Morghana The Doll Witch!! Where I take Science and a little bit of Magic to make my dolls their very best selves...

Thanks for the offer!

So after just a few short days with her, a few things have become pretty clear to me:

1) I love the having a full size doll better than a torso. Having a full body to cuddle with is exactly what I wanted. So I'll definitely be selling the torso I got earlier.

2) I don't like the way either the silicone torso or the tpe doll feels. Both of them are soft to the touch on the surface... but cuddling up to either of them, they're so stiff and don't have any give. So I'm going to sell the WM 160D as well. At least it was a relatively cheap experiment and I didn't buy a doll at full price!

3) Again, hollow boobs over solid boobs any day!

My conclusion is that I think what I really want now is actually the first thing I intended to buy: a plush doll. I just happened to get these two because I saw an opportunity to try something different for much cheaper than a 2-3k custom plush doll.

I went through the work of taking pictures and packing her up. She's ready to go to her new home.

After sitting on it for a month I decided I'm going to keep her for... Experiments hahaha

The first thing on the list is diy removable limbs. I'm thinking at the knee and shoulders.

And as I expected, there are welds. I was able to break the nuts free with just pliers, but the bolts will need to be ground/cut/drilled as far as I can tell.

Make sure you protect the area from sparks. I used a damp towel.

I feel like she needs a new name now ... I'm open to suggestions

Also, is it not possible to edit the original thread title? Mods?
