How to clean WM doll without a shower place?

Post by dealseadd »

Unfortunately, I don't have a shower place to wash the WM doll. Is it possible to clean the doll with spray nozzle bottle and a piece of cotton cloth? Do I have to have a shower place to clean the doll regularly? Thank you. :glou:

Bucket of water and a microfibre cloth. Thats all i do for mine. When you first get her i would wipe her down 2 to 3 times a day for the first few days to get all production residue off. Get clean water and a new cloth each time aftrrr a wipe down. Car care places can sell bulk bags of micro fibre cloths for dairly cheap

Nope, Provided she is a TPE doll, not silicone, the baby oil procedure is fine. Just be careful, so you dont hurt her. You'll notice that your doll will feel softer too. There are other threads about doll care, so keep an eye out for them. Vaseline jelly is useful for inside orifices, but takes time to be absorbed. My doll is a WM and has treated like this for some time and she's fine.

edit:Check out this thread, It's a bit lengthy but loads of good information.

It's kind of funny. I noticed that baby oil removed much more dirt than soap and water right away. My last bath I gave her used Baby Oil and wet wash clothes, but left more to be done. I just finished with the plastic card, and old Dave and Busters card, and I'm really impressed. It took three goes, but she's cleaner than she was the day I got her.

Two questions.

Is this alright for day one procedure, or is the typical 3-5 washing with soap and water still recommended?

How long to wait after an oil bath to apply powder?

Thanks for pointing this out to us.

I don't see why not, The issue with new dolls is that they have just undergone a chemical process, there are still residues, volatiles that need to evaporate out. Some people might experience a reaction to these, I did. So a wash down with soap and water will not hurt, just don't immerse her. Personally, if I was to get a new doll, I'd just use oil. I'm not a doll expert by the way, just using info I've picked up along the way.
Wait until she's dry/tacky, if she's still shiny its too early. I usually give Ami an hour a side to absorb the oil.
