Yes the new shugging skeleton has a hinged neck assembly, this is correct, but they have now, at least on this skeleton taken Two steps back as they are welding the nuts to the bolt, then they weld the bolt head to the skeletal frame. What this means is you can no longer tighten the joints as you could before, now it will mean major surgery! 8O 8O 8O

Provided the hingws are adjusted well at the factory... no problem. But when it is a problem it's going to be frustrating.

Best wishes

It is not just the neck, because of the poor quality controls, there are often time when a hip or knee or other joint needs to be tightened, often before the doll is even a few months old. It is usually a pretty simple procedure that doesn't involve anything more that a very small about 6mm cut and a hex key wrench, at least with Jinsan skeletons. But now ANY joint adjustment will be a major surgical procedure, that will involve a good half day or more of very complex work!

This was a great chance for them to really have a world class skeleton and they BLEW it!

@hangman2020; I would love to know how you got one of these skeletons? I could sure use one for the research at MissAtleur!

Thanks!

Cool news, about time! The welding is at least something they can easily adjust if they just recognize the problem. Maybe it's even possible to specifically ask for no welds when you order your doll, less work for them but might add some time of production for you.

But do we seriously still have a screw for the head? Or did I miss something :-|

I think its great news the skeletons are getting improved on.

from the pic it looks like the head attachment method will still be with that same threaded pipe connector?
so the head might still be loose and swivel randomly unless you twist it on to full tightness which leaves the head turned in some random direction?

also what about the fingers? when will they be upgraded from those metal copper wires to something better?
