Honestly, I think this could be done beautifully with Plush (and some silicone for mouth / nose perhaps). It's just the volume of man-hours to carefully trim and groom the fur and get it to lay correctly on a face with fur that goes in multiple directions, as well as keeping a very firm shape possibly around a custom molded skull inside.Nyarlat wrote:And believe me, I am in no way bashing plush, I have four plush dolls right now and another on the way (from velour vixens as a matter of fact, based closely off of JB's Champagne ).. An anthro skull would be fun to 3d model and print if I ever get a 3d printer...
I swear, it won't look creepy at all...
Unfortunately It's difficult to find examples from fursuits that I like since the size of the heads is often too big, or kind of goofy looking, in order to fit a real human head inside.
