I was just thinking the other day that my little harem was sadly lacking a lovely ebony gal and now this gorgeous creation pops up, good lord, please Santa this is all I want for Xmas! I was already hankering after either of the 2 latest bigger YL gals so this combination is straight to the top of my wish list!

Which skin color is this?
Dark tan or cocoa?

I can't decide between "Nava black" and "cocoa" but this is definitively to light for me...

Jinshan's 'dark tan' is labeled as 'cocoa' at some vendors.

This are the currently 7 Jinshan skin colors:

'Nava black' is actually not black but a dark brown.

Please note that these photos are slighlty underexposed to make the skin color appear darker (I guess 0.5-1.0 f stops), respectively to render a dim-lit atmosphere. In direct sunlight these skin tones will appear lighter.

The other skin tones are still too light.
I'm just worried that it will be too dark because of the "dim-lit atmosphere" in my apartment that lets my other (white) dolls really shine at night.
Hopefully it doesn't turn a "dark brown" doll into a "black hole" one...
That would suck...

Although, is there maybe an unofficial new color in between "dark tan" and "Nava black"? Or is this just a fluke?

it does. I'm currently looking at everything about black dolls I can find.
They look different in every single picture. Light conditions and exposure settings are crucial.
I hope Désirée is still safe and sound, as you've mentioned some early stress marks and minor damages.

Be careful, the skin tone on these pictures is tan, not dark tan.

In dim light, the darker skin tones will probably shift towards black.

From what you have seen, can there still be a big difference in a doll that is made in lite tan today vs six months ago?

@Jeff: Since I do not keep Jinshan dolls for reference, it is imposible to assess the color shift withou lab equipment. Based on sporadic color samples and assuming that the old samples do not change due to aging, there is an occasional deviation like shown in the picture posted by nukeno. Visually there is rarely a 100% match, but deviations as massive as in the 'cocoa' sample are rather rare as well.

However, other manufacturers have these deviations as well, so it just is as it is.

By the way, I just learned that Jinshan head no. 108 is now a generic WM Doll head, meaning that the current discount on WM Doll heads is available for #108, too.
