@Katka: There is no question that you can build a head with eyes that blink. SFX specialists in Hollywood are building this kind of animatronics for decades. Z-Onedoll has proven that you can even make a commercial product with these features. However, artificial intelligence and learning capabilities are a different ballgame. I am very sceptical that a Chinese company can jump from "trying to figure out how to make a TPE doll" to high tech state of the art within a couple of months.
Take a look at the photos they are showing. These are the same pictures that are floating around for years, showing those old JY/Rifrano/Lifanou/Maiden Doll sculpts where nobody knows where they really come from. If *I* had this kind of state of the art high tech, I would make tons of own photos, showing every inch of my stuff. I would open a dedicated Youtube channel with an A.I. talk show, showcasing that she gets smarter every week and is able to outsmart Chris Hardwick. I would launch a firework with demos, proving how cool that stuff is.
If I actually have this kind of tech, I do not need to re-use dated pictures everybody else is using too for plain old 'dumb' dolls.
@abracadabra: Combining TPE with heating is a walk on a tightrope because TPE deforms at a certain temperature and even melts at higher temperatures. Hitdoll has played around with TPE and body heating, resulting in melted dolls. You can still find these pictures on TDF. GNSETC, the mother company of Hitdoll, was smart enough to abandon TPE because they wanted to focus on things like body heating, audio replay, and animatronics. That works much better with silicone because it is poured at room temperature, not injection molded at high temperatures like TPE.
I am aware that a number of TPE companies offer body heating. But it's still a bad idea. For anything more advanced - like animatronics - it's an even worse idea (imho).
Trying to make my point clearer - some advanced features are possible for dolls, others are not possible or do not make sense, because they would make the body heavy like a tank.
- eye movement, lip movement, blinking eyelids - possible (standard SFX requirement; Z-Onedoll has it);
- head movement - simple movements are doable (requiring strong servos; strong servos require a lot of power; so it either makes the doll very heavy, or she is bound to an external power supply); complex movements are currently not possible in a doll with reasonable weight and affordable price;
- audio replay - possible (trivial; available in sex dolls for years);
- body heating - possible (a lot of doll companies have it for years; some, but not all, have even managed to integrate temperature control);
- speech synthesis and voice recognition - currently not possible in an autonomous doll because there just is not enough processing power that could be embedded into the available space within a sex doll;
- artificial intelligence and learning capability - currently not possible in an autonomous doll (same reasons).
For speech synthesis and speech recognition, you will probably have to connect the doll to a computer and/or the Internet. For speech recognition, usually the spoken words are digitized into an compressed audio file and sent to a remote server for processing; in the end the interpreted text is returned as plain text. Google has a nice API for that, demonstrating voice recognition with automatic simultaneous translation. Companies like Google
do have this tech - but do you want them to listen to your conversation with your robot doll? It's even the same IP address your robot sex doll will be using, so they can pool the data with your profile.
Even to
simulate A.I., something similar is required. For example, MyRobotLab (a Python script, used by the 3D printable InMoov robot) runs on an external device like a tabet pc and allows to do recognize and answer a question - again, with the help of an Internet connection and Google.
