Eyebrows

Post by Fantastic Plastic »

Well I took the plunge tonight and removed the top lashes to install my eyelids and of course that got the eyebrows wet with oil and now their gone.
I know the technique of doing them I just want to know what exactly is used to make them?
I have a pencil but it just smears off. Had it all perfect with realistic hairs and it just wiped off.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I have an idea SR95 but I just wanted to hear from anyone in the know, I'm still technically a noob but I learn at an extremely fast pace.

I've been trying to know this for months myself. I accidentally erased a bit of Kiko's right eyebrow when removing some eyeshadow and I would really like to fix it soon!

My solution would be to buy the eyebrow wigs off of Amazon for $50 bucks and attach them with adhesive. You would be one of the only people that would have hair eyebrows on TPE. :)

I would like to hear anyone else's solution though because $50 bucks for some eyebrows is a lot of money in my opinion....

Hey FP, nice to see that you are trying out the eyelids!

Here's a relatively inexpensive way to do the eyebrows that I think came out looking fairly good.
It takes a little practice to get the hang of, but you can use the back of the head to try it a few times to get the feel of it.

My Aggie's makeup is getting a little worn from all the eye changes, but here it is what I did...

I started by making light eyebrow shapes with an eyebrow stencil and some light eye shadow (the #2 color).
I got these at my local Sally Beauty supply. They are a thin clear plastic stencil - you just flip them over to do the other side.

Using a small artist brush I painted a little line of acrylic paint in the shape and then using a toothpick, scratched through it with quick strokes to make the hair texture. I used a similar technique for the lower lashes.
The paint I used was Behr flat acrylic paint color 790B-6 Stone Hearth which is a nice almost black brown color.
You can get this in 8oz sample jars at Home Depot for around 3 or 4 bucks.

As long as it's not rubbed or stretched a lot, the paint will hold up pretty well.
I've changed the eyes many times on this head so it's starting to crack off a little here and there from all the stretching.

Another thing I've been meaning to try is to use the technique with some Permatex flowable silicone mixed with paint which would solve the cracking issue. Her lips were colored with eye shadow and sealed with the Permatex. I've noticed no issues with the TPE so far.

Yes people the ardel brow stencil is priceless you can use just powder makeup as well clean area to be re colored with rubbing alcohol next place the stencil it should kind of stick there then carefully apply the powder it should turn out great.

These just added several levels of realism to my doll!
This is just one of the expressions I can produce!
I'll be ordering more of these.
Thanks!

I made my eyebrows with powder eye makeup.
I got an eyeshadow pack at the store yesterday for 3 bucks and I used the edge of the point of a plastic dental flosser/pick and LIGHTLY touched the edge of the pick to the makeup and placed one hair at a time.
Very time consuming but ended up working pretty good.

Interesting thread, I have been re-doing them with an eye shadow pencil, looks good but there is room for more realism.

Here's a recent picture of Kiko with eyebrow wigs. I went for it after all.

I love the results!
They can easily be taken off and touched-up/adjusted then reattached with eyelash glue.
Be very careful when you trim these to the size when they arrive if you want to try this yourself.
If you cut carelessly lots of hair will fall out.
You don't want a funky eyebrow :) !

I just installed new eye brows on my dolls. Abyss's eye brows weren't to my taste.
