Hello All
Started out with fleshlights, then found out about love dolls being sold at amounts that's "reasonable" (much more than the ones some years ago where they were top of the top products.)
Anyway, I hope I can make everyone's acquaintance (and see about getting my own doll).

Check out the various sub-forums. Even if you're not ready to purchase a doll immediately, there are plenty of great photoshoots that highlight the incredible sculpting of today's dolls, as well as many discussions about what dolls (and ultimately sex robots) might imply for the future of sexuality, relationships, marriage, and even society itself.
Is there a particular doll you have your eye on?

Re: Hello All
A decent 'blow up doll' 6 years ago is 'Stone Age' compared to what's available now - I know, I had one..... Dolls are JUST starting to hit the same evolutionary curve as smart phones 10 years ago due to rapidly evolving social acceptance and (primarily) the Chinese market. At this point in time, I would take all the excellent advice provided here (as I did two years ago), but also recommend that you figure out a modest budget, and timeline. I purchased one of the best TPE (pardon the pun) bang for the buck dolls summer of 2015. And I'm still VERY happy with her and will be for years to come - as she evolves from my primary companion into a photographic model. At the time, I also wanted (and actually could afford) a top of the line silicon model. But I knew I could thoroughly enjoy my TPE beauty for a couple years, and THEN buy a spectacular (3rd generation) silicon wonder for the same TOTAL cost as the 'High' end Si version at the time.
I tend to over analyse things, and I TRY not to let passion over rule logic - so that's just my take. But the point is, even the cheaper TPE dolls of today are really great. Sure the Si beauties are even better. But before you can blink an eye, and pay off your Credit card, the next generation of dolls are going to be in a league of their own.
So enjoy what you are comfortable with today. And tomorrow, who knows what the future will bring.

Re: Hello All
In particular I've been looking at the WM Doll types, sizes from 100~140 cm, 156 if there's a great deal for it.
Little worried about storage for the doll (lots of different options I've read so far, such as the CBS kit, rolling chair etc.).
Re: Hello All
FWIW, I recently ordered a 156cm B-cup from Booty Call Dolls (BCD), made by OR Dolls but with a WM head. The BCD web site isn't as complete as some vendors, but the price I was quoted was a little lower than what others were advertising. Some vendors also offer discounts to forum members, so you may want to e-mail them about that. Most vendors had sales around Christmas, but I'm not sure if other periods with sales will be forthcoming in the near future. I doubt if you'd get a 156cm TPE doll for the typical advertised price of a 100-140cm TPE doll ($1,000-$1,700), but it might not be much over the top of that range if you get a good discount. Used dolls also turn up; there's a for sale section on this forum.970261 wrote:In particular I've been looking at the WM Doll types, sizes from 100~140 cm, 156 if there's a great deal for it.
There are lots of warnings about fly-by-night operators that advertise lower prices on eBay, Amazon, AliExpress, and whatnot, so it's generally recommended to stick with a vendor that's been vetted here. (That said, I have no personal experience with any such vendor, and even my purchase from BCD has yet to arrive -- that's not suspicious, since I placed the order under a week ago.)
A chair isn't the best storage solution, since storing a doll in a chair will mean bending her legs, which will stress the TPE. That's fine for short periods of time, but for storage, the result is likely to be wrinkles and tears. The general consensus seems to be that storing the doll horizontally on a soft surface, such as a bed, is best. If vertical storage is required, get standing legs and put at least most of the weight on the feet. I'm sure others can provide more details and opinions formed from experience; I'm just repeating what I've read in other threads.Little worried about storage for the doll (lots of different options I've read so far, such as the CBS kit, rolling chair etc.).
Somebody recently posted an idea about building a bedframe with under-bed storage for a doll. The idea in the thread was to market the product, starting in the UK. If you're handy enough, you might build such a bedframe yourself; or maybe you can find something close enough in a furniture store.

Thanks for the additional info, I think I'll look at BCD when I get the chance. By e-mail, is it via the forums or their websites??

And once you've allotted the required 5 posts to shed your newbie restrictions, you can send private messages. Once you have 5 posts, you'll have access to the 'PM' link at the bottom of users' posts. I would start by looking through the vendors' forums: http://www.dollforum.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=210. Here, you can get an idea of how popular or tested a vendor is by how active their forums are. Read some of the thread titles to get further evidence, and ultimately, read the threads which catch your eye.
100cm - 156cm range: Think about what type of experience you're hoping for. While the small dolls are easy to hide quickly, they're not as likely to give you the experience of being with a mature woman. For a "life-sized" experience, I wouldn't venture below 145cm, unless you're stature suits a shorter doll.
Storage: A lot of it depends on your exact situation, how much privacy you require, and space limitations. Dolls will last longer if they are not "stored" at all. The ideal spot for her is in your bed, wrapped in soft light-coloured blankets. Good luck.

It'd have to be not my bed where I keep the doll and my closet. I've got my own room but the house itself is shared, and I think I've got a cloth bag I can wrap the doll/head in (100~156cm).
I think I'll look around and see how other people store their dolls.
