Intro

Post by indyidol »

Hi forum, just wanted to make my intro. I have been lurking for a few weeks and have read heaps on TDF and visited many doll manufacturers sites doing research as I would like to purchase a life size doll soon, preferably a 160, 160+ in silicon.

My reasons for wanting a doll is mainly for a sex toy, but from reading and researching and seeing the artistry of the dolls listed, I know that I would be buying much more than just a toy. That's a good thing for me, doll ownership has a very appealing sense to me as there is just me now in a big empty house, and companionship, even though it is a doll, would still soften my environment.

After being married for 20+ years and recently going through a separation, and not having any desire to enter a new relationship in the near future, I am thinking there is no harm in the experience of owning a doll. There are truly some beautiful options to choose from and I am amazed at how far this industry seems to have developed with their product offerings.

I am being ambitious as a first time doll owner but I am thinking a Sanhui 160 or 165 with Severine head and textured skin would be a great doll. The body is impressive and I like the face and other details and options available. I can only imagine the time and effort that will go into looking after such a doll with the care and maintenance required, and likely a lot of TLC, but I think it would be a nice distraction from the alternative of other mundane activities. I am very fit and active so the weight factor of the doll should not be an issue, and at least I am aware of the weight factor. Thanks to all the info on TDF I feel I will have at least some realistic semblance of what to expect with such a purchase.

I have a car to sell and that will be financing my purchase, as soon as it is gone I will be reinvesting :)

Thanks for TDF for such an informative site :)

:D Welcome indyidol, here are some handy staters links for you too....

Newbies Welcome Page

and you found this one all ready....Member Introductions

WoW 8O selling a car to buy a doll, now that is serious stuff, hope it was just a spare unneeded extra, but at least you do not have to spend a grand a year for registering and compulasry third party insuring a doll downunder like we do with our cars, so you will be saving the cost of the doll in rego savings in three years.

Yes, I am also in Oz, and two other staffers are too Dees Man and Playtime, so feel free to ask us anything not already covered and the search button is your friend.

Once you get five posts up you will get full board function, and take your time to do your research before committing, and when in doubt ask the community.

Cheers Anung

Hi Anung, thanks for the welcome, seems there are a few from Oz in TDF :)

Yes the car is just an extra right now and not needed anymore so thought it would make sense to sell my ride for a new ride :) :)

I am 95% sure of which doll I want and the reasons why, but shall continue to read TDF and continue researching to confirm. Thanks again for the welcome :)

Welcome to the forum, indyidol.

With TPE dolls selling like crazy these days, how come you decided on a silicone doll? I'm just curious. :)

Thanks for the welcome :)

To answer your question, I guess I am looking for the most realistic piece of art possible, textured skin, and some finer details, and from what I have seen from manufacturers to date, it seems that a silicon doll can offer me these extra minor details.

Importantly, for me, silicon is a known quantity as being non toxic and non porous. TPE dependant on its chemical formulation by the manufacturer, seems to be an unknown quantity in my "opinion", it is a porous material, and cannot be sterilised. Thermoplastic elastomers from what I have read can also creep and have poor chemical and heat resistance, high compression set and low thermal stability. I also live in a very hot climate. Summer in OZ can have consecutive days of 38+ degrees C. Given I do not have aircon the TPE could possibly soften or deform at elevated temperature above which they lose their rubbery behaviour. My comments are not meant to deride a TPE made doll, but more so just to state my perceived pro's vs cons in buying a doll given my environment. I think silicon is just a wiser choice for me personally.

Lastly I think that with good care and respectful use of a silicon doll it will be more durable in the long run, additionally the though of having to break a silicon doll in so to speak is also appealing to me.

I hope that answers your question giving you an insight into my choice.

CHEERS :)

Hi!

And WELCOME!

I think you make the case well for silicone dolls.

The USA are lucky in having both Ruby and PIB in addition to Abyss.

If only other countries had their local manufacturers . . .

Best wishes
