Was hoping to pose her hands in proper playing pose but the wrists don't appear to rotate- or at least, I don't think I should force them to. The are quite lose moving side to side but I can't get them to rotate.

Welcome to the TDF forum privatetai. The doll maintenance can be pleasurable too, when your done cleaning her especially. Then you want to treat the doll with vaseline, rubbing it in all over the dolls body for me is wonderful, treat her cavities with it too once you have them cleaned & dried. Let the vaseline dry to the touch the doll will feel tacky/sticky usually it will take 24hrs to dry rubbing it in helps work it deeper into the dolls skin than just laying it on the skin. Once dry use corn starch or baby powder. I am a sighted person but i love the curves in my hands, for you this may be even better. I also have a cat for the first 2 mos, my cat would not go near my doll, now she will only go reluctantly near her if i am in the same room as the doll.

One thing I'll definitely say makes a doll better than a real woman is, especially on the 140 CM or any small stature dolls, they are still much more meaty feeling than any real woman of that size would get. My gf is quite slender, so from first hand experience I know how bony and uncomfortable it can get cuddling up against someone and feeling their hipbone and sharp elbows and knees

With the doll, though she's tiny, its a very meaty feeling- despite being a bit firmer than real flesh.

Insidentally, I just found another way to dry those tight places... Maybe someone's tried this already, but I find using the hand pumps from those old blowup dolls, ya know, the ones with tubes, you can actually insert the tubes into the cavities and, with a bit of a workout, speed up the drying. Makes me wonder if an electric pump like the ones for air beds would work even better.

I read through your posts. I think it's great that you are taking on the challenge of doll ownership.
You had some questions that were not directly answered but may have been in the links provided. I'll add a couple of comments.

As for the head that's not forward when tight, adding various thicknesses of rubber washers helps. It's a bit of trial and error to get the right combination but once you find it it's great.

Cleaning in place rather than carrying to the bathroom is the easiest. I use minimal water during cleaning. I have a chamois cut into 6 3x3inch squares. Each square had a hole in the center and an 8 inch string attached. Two chamois are damp and soapy, two are damp but totally wrung out, and two are dry. The soapy squares are inserted a couple of times, wiggled around and removed by the string. I use two fingers to do it but for larger dolls you can use the handle of a kitchen utensil like a spatula. Repeat this with the damp chamois to remove the soap. Repeat with the dry chamois to dry. I use an aquarium pump after that, but the paper towel method mentioned earlier probably works as well.

This method also works great for the oral cavity as well. I rarely remove Daria's head anymore after a near disaster when I dropped it. She just sits on the edge of the bed with a towel bib when being cleaned.

The oral cavity was really the ahrdest for me cause she wouldn't keep her mouth open! Lol... it was frustrating trying to keep her mouth open one handed while cleaning with the other and trying not to tear/rip anything.
At least for a 140 CM doll it's not too too bad getting her to the bathroom for the job. I think I may try sitting her on a bucket tonight. One question though, wouldn't the edge/rim of the bucket cause compression damage to her butt/thighs? And how would one keep her weight from tipping the bucket over? My bedroom's carpeted so a tipped over bucket would be very bad indeed.

Air bed pumps do work great you just have to make a dowel rod shaped difusser attachment, more holes to spread the air around more evenly & to slow it down some at least on my pump its a pretty strong pump. Leave room for air to get out of cavity as it goes in so you don't in create a filling the balloon effect to your sweetie's cavity.
