Re: Today (and an introduction)
I also got a chance to practice moving and posing her, getting familiar with her joints. It was definitely easier this time than a couple days ago. Practice, practice, practice.
And finally, I got a chance to take some new photos. I don't have a good "photo studio" set yet, these are just taken in the bedroom after powdering her.
The first set are just a few of the somewhat large number of clothing items I've ordered for her -- I stuck to white for now, as I've always had a thing for girls in white. Weird where these things come from.

Re: Today (and an introduction)
The alleviate the problem of her hair always in her eyes / face, I decided I would just trim the wig. Easy, right? Well, if you're a hair stylist. I'm definitely not, so pardon my butchery. It wasn't an expensive wig, so I wasn't too worried.
Can I just say that tiny little synthetic hairs want to stick to everything, especially her face? I literally had to vacuum her face.
Here are some photos showing how problematic the wig is:
Here's my first hack:
And then I refined it bit by bit:
And then finally, the back. I didn't trim this part, but am showing it for completeness.

Girlfriends are for guys who haven't found the right doll yet.
I feel much better now that I've given up hope.
Re: Today (and an introduction)
By the way brushing powder with a blush brush should help get the hairs off.
Or sometimes I use a piece of tape to pick them up.
Just watch out for the eyes and eye lashes.
The wig keeps sliding off? If you can't adjust it you could try a wig cap or two. Or even carefully pin it to a wig cap then put it on. Just be safe!
She looks very happy to get so much attention.

Re: Today (and an introduction)
I noticed that on the initial powdering. After the haircut, though, it wasn't just her face. I had to vacuum her shirt and her cleavage, too.TheIQF++ wrote:Hey, great job on the hair cut. It's so cute.

I'll give her another powdering soon (sans clothes) and I think that'll do it.
Yeah, trying to be conscious of those. I'm almost expecting to damage them at some point.TheIQF++ wrote:Just watch out for the eyes and eye lashes.
It's a costume wig, not necessarily meant for dolls, and AFAIK there's no adjustment, but I should look closer. The wig cap sounds like a good idea, though -- I'll get one and try it out.TheIQF++ wrote:The wig keeps sliding off? If you can't adjust it you could try a wig cap or two. Kind regards.
p.S.: The photo with her hair all over her face is pretty funny.

Re: Today (and an introduction)
I just went back and took a closer look at the inside of the wig, and you're right. There's an adjustment that I hadn't noticed. Two elastic straps with hooks that can be clipped to a row of loops to tighten the fit. I'll try that first, as it's the most straightforward option.TheIQF++ wrote:The wig keeps sliding off? Re: Today (and an introduction)
I have a question for you regarding pick up at a FedEx local facility - how does a person arrange for a pick up? Do you call ahead and get them to locate your package?
That's a wonderful haircut, btw

Thanks much!everythingwillbefine wrote:Congratulations, Count Zero!
Once you get a tracking number, the FedEx website will allow you to customize the delivery. One of the options is to hold at a local FedEx office (typically a FedEx / Kinkos, or one of their retail locations) for up to five days. Of course, when I did it, that diversion added a day to the delivery. But still not so bad. They even laid the box flat on the floor, as the label on the box requested.everythingwillbefine wrote:I have a question for you regarding pick up at a FedEx local facility - how does a person arrange for a pick up? Hey, thanks much! I spent a lot of time looking at your DS145 dolls when I first arrived here at TDF. Happy to be able to give something back.von_Shredhead wrote:Howdy Count Zero!
