Yes, please try the gif thing!
And when converting to indexed colours be sure to select a dithering mode that works well. Trial and error . Our you may get very bad colour transitions.

New camera lens!


I have prepared for this month photo contest (not only, but it made me push the buy button) by investing in a fixed focal length lens with larger aperture (f/stop 1.8 ) to be able to achieve those beautiful shallow depth portraits with that signature bokeh

I got this lens

I just took a few test pictures of Emma just now and I am very pleased so far.

I really like the short focus plane. It brings attention to her eyes
Just look at the shoulders. The left one (right in the image) is in focus but already at the right shoulder the focus is off!

In all pictures I have attempted to put the focus on her left (right in the image) eye.
Photos are of max upload allowed size, so click and judge yourself.

I think I will have lots of fun with this lens

As reference. Here are two photos with lowest possible f-number on the kit zoom lens. (18-55mm)
Note one photo is taken close to 18mm and one close to 55mm.

Nothing wrong with them at all, but as you can see the background separation is almost none (in comparison)!
