What Time is it? It’s time to meet Emma again, hoorah.
Lovely to see a few more pictures of Emms again, looking rather delicious as usual.
I'm glad to see you kitted out Emms with all her safety gear for the inline skating, that's very responsible of you, health and safety and all that jazz.
She's certainly becoming the expert at the 'lounge' pose and looks very relaxed lying there with with her legs crossed.
The animation's really good and she just jumped up and skated off like an expert. Well done Emms.
Both me and Hanna just adore that fuchsia/pink dress, it looks stunning on her and the colour really suits her. The powder doesn't show much even in the full size version.
Well, that black dress, Hanna reckons the pair of them should meet up in The Ritz for tea and tiffin. Gorgeous, and she wears it so well. Perfect figure for a dress like that. I'm very fond of black dresses anyway, as Hanna will attest to, so Emms wearing this one is a real treat.
I love her lounging shots too, as I said she's becoming somewhat expert at the 'lounge' pose.
The candlelight ones are really nice, again. You're getting really good at these. I must try some myself because they're always so nice to look at.
Great sets Sofos and well done Emms for the lovely poses.

Best wishes from us three on the wild plains waving at you two from the sofa.

I'm impressed with the gift animation. I can only speculate how you managed that. It's either that, or Emma has learned to skate. :)

All photos look nicely done. I'm particularly fond of the candle light photos though. It's a good thing you have a DSLR to capture low light photos with decent quality with, and it suits her well. Those look fancy. :)
笑. It's good for you.

Well thank you :D

Hell yes. Safety first  I must say I found her looking rather cute in that helmet ;)

The animation consisted of 17 frames if I remember correctly but with the tripod (very satisfied with that investment!) it is super easy to produce the gifs since all the shots cover exactly the same area. I just load all images as layers in gimp and crop/adjust them all in once. Then convert the colors to "indexed" (what gif is using and why the images are so grainy) and then export as gif, specifying the default time between frames.

this means that is is just as simple and easy to create a gif with 2 frames as with 20.

If needed one can adjust the delay between individual layers too.
https://www.gimp.org/tutorials/Simple_Animations/

Highly recommend it for someone that want to try. There are still plenty of time to submit entries for this months challenge

Yes, that is definitely one of her fav poses and one that she still masters
I'm sad to say it but her joints are getting progressively more and more loose so posing is getting harder and harder. Some things we used to do in the beginning are now impossible...

Emma says she would love to meet up with Hanna at the Ritz for some afternoon tea so they could get to know each other better :D I have a feeling those two classy ladies would cause a few heads to turn too

I too am very fond of black, and deep red :D In the beginning I was afraid to put it on for fear of staining but either I've been super lucky or silicone simply doesn't stain that easily. (everything is pre-washed of course).

Well thank you so much for your kind words. Emma is soaking up the praise like a sponge right now
And, for the record, both me and Emma is super exited to see what you and Hanna come up with for both the fuchsia and music challenge as I believe Hanna was promised an entry in them both! 8)
Or if you want to join in the GIF challange I won't stop you ;)

Have a great day Moondoon, Hanna and Katie!

Yes, I was pretty impressed with Emma as well. It was her first time skating but she managed it as a real pro! :D

I might have have "fixed" her skates though...

It is a DLSR but only an entry level model. What made it possible for me to take these low light images is that I learned to manage the manual mode (so I can keep the camera from turning up the ISO setting since that causes grain) and equally important the use of a tripod. The exposure times used make it impossible to get good quality with handheld camera (the reason the auto mode is boosting the ISO is to keep down the exposure times...).

These tips might help anyone wanting to try something similar.

To illustrate what I mean.

This is the exact same camera but handheld with auto mode enabled

(click for bigger)

and that is one of the better. I have plenty from that photo shoot that I never shared due to out of focus and grain.

Nice pictures, Sofos! I look forward to seeing Emma grinding some handrails and bustin' some handplants in the halfpipe as her skating improves. :D

I know all about that grain. I just captured a couple of photos for the first time in months. I forgot to check the settings. I posted the photos on twitter because they still look fun, but the quality is bad.

Long exposure times can render grain too, but usually the results a way better than what high ISO will do. Also, the grain looks different. Long exposure grain doesn't look as bad to me as high ISO grain does.

A tripod is a must. I plan to get one after my kids work themselves out of difficulties, which may be never.

Consequently, I like that grainy photo. It really is nice.

Ty :)

Haha, you might have to wait a while for that

@Obin
Yes I pretty much agree with you. In the right photo grain can even be wanted (just look at some movies where they add grain) but personally I prefer to keep the ISO grain down if possible.

Respectable?

Sofos is going away for ~2 weeks tomorrow for some well deserved recreation so I will have the apartment all to my self :)
And we agreed that I should wear something that won't stain and is respectable. Cause you never know...

I went over the closet and this is what I came up with. I think it looks pretty good and should fulfil all criteria :D

Yeah like in the movie Lost In Translation. I read somewhere that Sofia Coppola's father Francis apparently asked her why she didn't use 35mm (I think it was) film to shoot the movie at a higher quality and she replied that she deliberately wanted the grain in the shots.

Have a good vacation.

Perfect clothing for lounging around the house Emms.

There's that old adage "Absence makes the heart grow fonder" so I'm sure you two will have some catching up to do when you get home.

Meanwhile all of us here at the Wild plains are wishing you a lovely relaxed vacation and looking forward to seeing you again when you return.

I just got caught up on this thread after being away for a few months. What a treat! The progression in photos is just fantastic, and I love the tasteful handling of beautiful Emma. The date night photos were some of my favorites. Here is a recap of some of the photos that really spoke to me:

Big kudos to Sofos and warmest regards to the lovely Emm! I truly enjoyed taking my time to work through the thread and appreciated all the effort that went into it. Please keep it going!

Please also indulge me a small post script, if I may...

Hi Sofos. You and Emma have been busy for quite a while on this thread. I regret that I haven't landed here sooner. Lots of lovely photos, and I enjoyed several of the same ones LDV cited. This one caused me to stir:
