Lots of time and lots of washing. I've had my 150 for almost a month and she gets weekly baths and I'm still cleaning off her production residue and her scent is still there too.
Lenny: Look at all this, the great food, the party, the sunshine -- it's hard to believe one God came up with all this.
Carl: Well, there's probably a lot of gods.
Lenny: Yeah, and some of 'em's gotta be chicks.
Carl: Yeah, with like a thousand boobs.
Lenny: Ooh hoo! That's the God I'm gonna worship!l.

Hi mossy! I believe you are talking about your new silicone reincarnation of Tano! Silicone is not as porous as TPE so, yeah, washing well really helps. It is usually recommended that you wash and dry several times when she first arrives! Also, unlike TPE, you can use perfumed soap and give her a good long soak in the bubbled water in a bath which will help. When I got my DS minis last year DS said use shampoo (or liquid soap) to wash them. I got some nice smelling cheap shampoo and it worked a treat!

Cheers, Hollows.

i live in a small apartment, the "bathtub/shower" is not big enough or in my opinion safe enough for her. i will carry her out into the living room and give her a sponge bath this weekend.

ok. looks like i will be off to the market to find some perfume to spry on her wig. probably vanilla or something.

You could try scented baby wipes since they’re really gentle. But to be on the safe side, you might try one on a really small, obscure area, just to be sure that there won’t be a negative reaction.

I guess I should consider myself lucky. My doll (JM) is about 8 months old and has not really lost any of her smell, but to me she has sort of a pleasant, sweet smell to her.

I have to second VD in this one.

When Emma arrived I gave her a shower and starch rub and after that I do not think she smells at all. Although she has a faint scent that I can detect by placing my nose close to her and then inhale trough my nose. But that is not an unpleasant odor in any way.

We slept together in my bed the first night and no problem. I'm very happy I went with silicone in this regard. Not sure I could have slept with a TPE doll the first night. I'm usually a bit sensitive to strong smells like perfume and stuff.

So, like virgin_doll I am a little puzzled. But I suppose we are all differently sensitive to smells.

It was gone pretty quickly for me I think.
Some people start to miss that new doll smell.

For sponge bathing, I have a shower curtain I lay on the bed and drape it over the side. Have her near the side. Bunch up some sheets or pillows and put them under the shower curtain to keep the water from going off onto the bed. Then just funnel the water into a small washing tub on the floor.

Estelles recommendations:
Nothing like a good baby oil bath to soak in! finished with a baby powder finish!
That would still allow for the factory smell to dissipate, in my opinion.
Using water dont really do anything since your talking about the oil impregnated in the skin.

Baby oil, or mineral oil, works well for removing makeup, grease and some marks. However, it's not a good idea to apply any type of mineral oil on a silicone doll as a treatment.

The smell of silicone dolls has never bothered me. The same goes for the smell of TPE dolls, so I'm not going to be helpful in this thread in a way that contributes to topic content.
笑. It's good for you.

Estelle, please be careful. I've been told mineral oil isn't good for us silicon ladies!
