Introducing Kristin

Post by Wiliam »

Kristin is a 110cm with large breasts, "Kitty" face, green eyes, and insert. She's a little stiff from her long trip but seems happy to be here and made herself at home immediately. My only concern is that her head sits pretty high on her neck bolt and in order to be bottomed-out the head would need to face just a tad beyond straight backward. Is this normal? I can see about a 1/4 inch gap between her neck and head when facing forward (see pics).
Other than that I couldn't be happier. I do believe I've found a soul mate :D

Very nice looking cutie and from the sounds of it what you were looking for, so congratulations. :glou:

I do not know that particular doll or what her neck and head attachment sections look like but normally there should not be any gap, actually the opposite, that is the section underneath the head is usually somewhat dome shaped or hollow in order to reach over the neck material all around to hide that gap.
If it is the pretty common system where you have a threaded nut on both sides( neck and head) and a grub screw( bolt with no head, just thread) in between, you could try unscrewing and just check how far it will go into either side, possibly with a drop of oil applied to the thread.
If one side( either neck or head) is actually a protruding fixed bolt and the other is an embedded nut, then all you can do is estimate the length on both sides( say by using a toothpick for the nut) and check whether or not they seemingly should fit - if they do, try a little oil on the thread and screw on carefully( note that you could try to count the amount of threads on the bolt for the height you checked in order to know approximately how many turns to go.
Only if you have a scenario where the nut(s) clearly do not provide a deep enough thread for the bolt to go into should a look like in your pictures happen - and in that case it would be a manufacturing mistake and should be extremely rare as such, so I would just try to find out where the issue is, but do it slowly and carefully.

Hope this helps a bit.

Kind regards.

Thanks for the info, mi6c. It looks to be the Pretty Woman system so it shouldn't be a big deal. BootyCall had a couple of suggestions also. I'll give them all a try. I'm pretty sure the threaded rod just isn't threaded into the neck far enough. I can get a couple of nuts that fit so I can get a wrench on it but it's holding her body that will be the challenge. Like you said, some 3-in-one oil should help. If nothing else, if I can remove the threaded rod, I can grind it down so it's a little shorter and clean up the threads with the nuts (I doubt I have a die that large).
Other than this issue, I'm extremely happy. I'm also glad I didn't go with a larger girl for my first time around.

. One vendor name kept coming up as being great at helping customers walk through the process, Booty Call Dolls. So I decided I would work with them on this first purchase, and did.

Yes as others have mentioned, this may just be a case of the head bolt not being in enough. Try putting a dish cloth over the bolt ( as to not damage the threads) and use a new pair of vice-grips to unscrew the bolt. Check the threads to make sure they are clean. Screw it into the head by hand, check how much sticks out.
Then do the same with the neck/body. The head should fit tight( if you wish) against the neck/ body.

Pretty girl, know your going to love her

I got a couple 5/8 inch nuts and cinched them together, then pulled the bolt and oiled it. I really had to crank on it but it's better. I'm going to have to pull it again and grind it down a little shorter. Not a real pain, just afraid of getting her dirty.

This is where I'm at right now. It's not bad but worth grinding it down a touch.

I wonder if the head was meant for a 100cm body it may explain the issue?
DL the base of head looks small for the neck.

I am confused, can you take a photo of both parts with the head off. Will the all threaded bolt not come out?

Thanks irishgirl :) Did you get your gal's arm fixed up? I was sad when I read that.
DL, I can't speak to that. As far as I know it's the correct head.
Justintime, I had the bolt out and oiled it but it doesn't go into the neck very far. I really had to cranks on it with channel locks to get it in a turn and a half. Her head goes on just fine. Everything seems tight and strong though, so grinding about 3/16" off should do the trick.

New manufacturer? This doll's body and face fails in my memory recollection.

I don't know much about Booth Call Dolls. I've got to start reading that topic.
