Jeff pointed me to your question.

A temperature of 40-50 °C / 100-120 °F is not harming a TPE doll.
Direct sunshine (UV radiation) is not good for the TPE doll.
Therefore, the TPE doll should not be stored where the sunlight enters through a window.

For storage, the TPE doll should be stored flat and not sitting in a chair.
There are two methods for this:

1.) The blanked method:
The transport carton of the TPE doll is very well suited for this purpose.
A blanket is folded and placed at the end of the head in the cardboard box.
A second blanket is folded and placed in the box at the foot end.
This results in a gap in the area of the buttocks, the so-called "buttocks gap", so that the buttocks are not flattened during prolonged storage.
A third blanket is now placed in the carton on the folded blankets.
Then the TPE doll is laid and the blanket is then folded over the TPE doll.
Because of the air circulation the carton should not be closed with tape.

2.) The mattress method (recommended for longer storage):
In this case, a foam mattress is taken and the foam is cut out exactly where the buttocks are located.
Then a blanket is placed on the mattress.
Then the TPE doll is placed and the buttocks fit exactly in this cutout.
Then the blanket is folded over the doll.

Cold is not a problem.
You are not able to freeze TPE.
At that temperature it is more a problem for the metall skeleton.
The worst you can do is a wet and cold cellar.

If the storage is only 1 to 2 days, the TPE doll must not be cleaned beforehand.
If storage takes longer, the following applies:
The wig is removed.
Clothing is pulled out as this could cause pressure points.
The TPE doll is washed, dried, oiled and finally powdered.
All openings must be absolutely dry.

Thank you very much.
I will likely build a nice "blanket chest" type of storage box, with some screened ventilation slits or holes, and use about 3 inches of memory foam cut out to meet the roundness of the butt, and use the factory sheet to fold her in. The chest will have a passive absorptive dehumidifier inside, and the room will have an electric dehumidifier used for the humid months. Thats the plan as of now.

I got a 2nd message about underarm tears...
http://8065b9ae.ngrok.io/html/tpe_care.html
Two videos can be seen at the bottom
Glue?
Heat?
or is the Indigo kit needed?
What are your thoughts?

Will a tear like this continue to grow with normal use, if it is not over-extended again? Or will it remain the same?

@ samara78:

Thank you very much for recommending the repair kit.

@ lilbitlonely:

I call such an injuriy "TPE rupture".
It happens on locations with high material stress and / or too less TPE material.

You can stop the enlarging of the "TPE rupture" with an intensiv mineral oil treatment and careful movement of the arm.
Do not put the affected arm in the high or fully to the side.

The repair of that "TPE rupture" inside the armpit is very tricky.
Please let me explain the repair options:

1.)
TPE glue is not recommended.
It would enlarge the rupture to a big hole because of the material tension.
See that video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AMr8Ozjd50M

2.)
Hot welding is also a problem because the rupture is only closed with angled arm and therefore you need a long and small nozzle for the heat gun to get inside the closed armpit and above the rupture.
Such nozzles are special constructions and must be crafted by yourself.

Attachment:
Nozzles.jpg
Nozzles.jpg [ 33.24 KiB | Viewed 675 times ]

And in addition, hot welding needs a lot of practice, because you have to adjust temperature and fan speed.

3.)
The repair with the TPE repair kit needs a special position of the doll.
The doll must be positioned with the head down, because otherwise the liquid TPE paste would run out of the rupture.
For having the doll in such a position you have to build a construction with 2 chairs and a table.
Place the doll with her belly with a blanket on the table.
Move the doll towards to you and bend her upper body down.
Afterwards the doll is positioned with the neck (head removed) between both chairs and the shoulders of the doll are on the chair cushions.

It is absolutely necessary to do several mineral oil treatments before to make sure for having a mineral oil buffer inside the TPE working against the soft solvents from the repair kit and to lower the material tension.

The repair must be then done inside the armpit with a small angle of less then 45°, otherwise the material tension is to high and Preparer or TPE paste would enlarge the rupture to a big hole like the TPE glue.
It is very tricky to apply Preparer first inside the rupture, which is now a small gap and located inside the angled arm.
The application of the TPE paste afterwards is more easier, because the TPE paste is inside the syringe with attached infusion hose.
Smoothing is again tricky because you have to work inside the angled arm.

That's the way, if you like to do the repair.

If you can life with that small rupture inside the armpit, do the mineral oil treatment and move the arm in a careful way for not enlarging the rupture, do not do a repair.

Thank you Indigo20. That is very useful information, and your instructions are clear. I did apply mineral oil immediately after I saw the tear, and returned the arm to it's normal position to prevent any further damage.

Doll was sent packed upside down....
Breasts flatted..
Look more realistic, but how would you suggest getting back to normal state?

Yes. A gentle massage with some baby oil, after a couple of days she should go back to normal

I'm having a problem with the magnetic connector. There is a thin metal rod that projects a little high,in the neck, and I can't get the magnet all the way down. It sits about a 1/32" high. The felt washer in the head does not make good contact with the neck, and her head swivels too easily. I roll her over, and her face swivels into the pillow. I have to hold her head up, so I can kiss her. Here are some photos. Sorry, I couldn't get enough light down into the hole. I have a couple ideas on how to fix it, but I want some expert advice first.

Thank you,

Tony

ESP,
I am blessed to have Samara78 and Indigo20 in our family.
TonyR71,
I am placing an order for more connectors and will see if a shorter piece, male or female can help.
Best,
Jeff

Thanks Jeff.

I was thinking of grinding the female (neck) piece a bit, both the top of it and the magnet at the bottom., as that protrudes a bit from the bottom of the threaded tube. That should lower the head down enough to make contact and increase resistance. I'll try that tomorrow and let you all know if it works.

I don't think the male (head) piece is causing the problem. The two pieces mated perfectly.

Now that I think of it, maybe swapping the pieces - male to the neck and female to the head - might do the trick. I'll try that tomorrow and will report, too.

Thanks,

Tony
