Alternatively - I'm not far from Hexham and travel ne and nw with contracts - anyone my end of the world?
A long shot but - who knows!

It's not necessary to own a doll to join the doll meet. But for newbies to get invited there are a few questions ... just send me an email: support@dollforum.com.

Hi, I am keen to purchase my first doll and think the meeting would be a good place to attend to try and understand what type of doll would be best for me. How can I get more details about the meeting.
Many thanks J.

Hi jpantie! Welcome aboard!

Although it would be good to meet a new member there I'm not sure if this will help you much this year! If you are in the UK you might be better building up your posts to 5 and then using the pm feature to contact the UK vendors. Both Phil at The Doll House in London and Graham at Love Doll UK in the north have viewing by appointment. Others may also do this. This might be better for you to see a range of dolls that are available on the market now rather than a small range of member's dolls!

Cheers, Hollows.

Hollows, you may find that the vendors will have some stock items with them. Phil certainly did last year.

Yes, probably Phil (the-doll-house) will bring some dolls, maybe Paul (CloudClimax) too, maybe another vendor. Also there will be a lot of dolls from members, so a lot of dolls to see in real :D And most important, it's a lot of fun 8)

i wouldn't call 40-60 dolls a small selection, i believe that is what usually shows up at the UK meet ( going by pictures i have seen that is ).

Meets are the best places to see a wide variety of dolls, this is why Dave, Bob and I started them

There's nothing like first hand experience from meeting owners of dolls and gaining knowledge from their experience of ownership. You'll see a large range of dolls from manufacturers that are unable to attended but whom others there own those dolls. Plus, Cloud Climax and Doll House will be there. Also Vivian of Vivid Doll will be sending me one of her latest dolls to take to the meet for her. Unfortunately Vivian won't be there this year as she is in China supervising the creation of her new dolls.

All in all, the meets are great fun :D :glou:
