It does cover the basics for new owners and introduces them to the concept of a maintenance Plan, so a good introduction.

The advanced stuff comes later.

And yes, Silicone dolls do also have a maintenance plan as well, it is similar, but less frequent and DOES NOT use the same materials, as the oils will not soak into silicon and can break down the silica bond matrixes over time. Additionally, the repair techniques and compound are different and mostly mutually exclusive of each other.

There are special silicone based restoratives that can rejuvenate both tin and platinum based silicone flesh, and corn starch or a good talc, is handy for keeping the mold build up down, when she is stored away in Winter for example.

Below is a silicone oil (Polydimethylsiloxane) that can be used sparingly to rejuvenate faded silicone and wear patches.

Remeber ALWAYS test and TRIAL on inconspicuous areas first, to ensure there are no adverse reactions

THAT IS FOR SILICONE DOLLS ONLY

Just a quick 'addition' here maybe!

I've just been to a Folk Festival and spent four nights in a tent! What's that got to do with dolls you might ask? Well it's hard to have a wash in a tent and there weren't any showers on site! Last year I splashed water everywhere so this year I bought a 90cm kids blowup paddling pool for £3 which was brilliant!

I didn't think anything of it for doll care but I've just had a few pm conversations with a member who is not well at the moment and can't move his dolls far and it sort of clicked! You could quite easily put a plastic sheet down and a pool like that anywhere - even on carpet! In that way you can use a bowl of warm water and hand soap to sponge her down and rinse. It's ok just wiping but if you have a lot of powder on her you end up with a 'cakey' mess which is hard to shift with wipes alone! This way you can wash it off with very little water with her sitting being pampered! I think a slightly larger one may be needed for full sized dolls but you can measure the length of her sitting position and just get one to suit for very little money!

I suppose, in theory, you could even use it on the bed by rolling her on to it deflated, sit her upright in it then blow up the pool but personally I find it easy to lift my dolls out of bed! Also, you could put a plastic chair or even a camping loo seat in the pool and do all 'cleanup' there too! I use a camping loo seat in a plastic tub at the moment for 'flushing' my ladies so a pool could match both purposes! Just be careful of emptying the pool afterwards though!

Cheers, Hollows.

I would add on the initial wash when you think you've washed her enough, bath her two or three more times no matter the manufacturer. To get the manufacturing residue off I set mine on a stool in the bathtub and used a handheld shower and used diluted laundry detergent. After this I have just washed/oiled/powdered her on the bed using a Indigo20's soft soap solution with towels under her. Take her first bath seriously for a wonderful honeymoon.

RC3291,
Good....
Below is a sneak preview of the NEWLY WED GUIDE .....

The Newly Wed Guide

The protocol for taking TPE dolls has changed alot in the past year. Unless you read about by chance or surf certain vendors you might not know. Credits go to my friend, Indigo20.
This guide basically deals with TPE care.

DOLL CARE
Your TPE doll requires maintenance in order to lengthen the life span and ensure maximum durability while being used for her intended purposes. Now this is not burdensome in fact it can be quite enjoyable and become second nature once you have been acquainted with your doll as time goes on.

Your care kit should include the following:

Spray bottle
Microfibre towel
Cornstarch baby powder
Thick makeup brush
Soft sponge
Baby oil (babyoil having to be based on mineraloil/paraffinum,)
Nivea creme
Vaseline (petroleum jelly)

Her first two days
The first day of your TPE doll is the most important day.
Wash the doll 5-6 times for removing the production residues.
That stuff is unhealthy and you should remove it.
Afterwards do a mineral oil treatment, let it absorb and then do the powdering.
Let the doll rest for the night.
The first mineral oil treatment and powdering are working over night (binding left residues).
Next day, wash off the powder, do the mineral oil treatment again, let it absorb and then again the powdering.

Now, let’s talk about washing your doll.

Newbie here. And guess who stained his doll? Not sure how it happened but there are black stains on three different areas of her face. I've tried dish soap and hot water but nothing worked yet. I've read posts referring to cleaning her but have yet to see anything definative on removing stains. She is TPE.
Any help would be most welcomed.

DOLL CARE
Your TPE doll requires maintenance in order to lengthen the life span and ensure maximum durability while being used for it's intended purposes. Now this is not burdensome in fact it can be quite enjoyable and become second nature once you have been acquainted with your doll as time goes on.

Your care kit should include the following:

Spray bottle
Baby wipes (unscented)
Soft fleece towel
Cornstarch baby powder
Thick makeup brush
Baby oil
Nivea creme
Vaseline (petroleum jelly)

Washing Your Doll

It is completely unnecessary to ever take your doll to the bathroom to wash. I highly discourage this method of washing your doll. To clean your doll simply all you need is the spray bottle, baby wipes, baby powder and makeup brush. Place your doll horizontally on a flat surface such as a bed or soft foam pad. Using the spray bottle add 70% water and 30% laundry detergent (unscented) and mix. We are going to wash the front half of her body now. Spray her front half and wipe using a baby wipe, do this until her torso, arms legs have been cleaned. Dry her with the soft fleece towel and then powder her to remove the tacky feeling to get the smooth skin feeling. I recommend to dispense the baby powder cornstarch into a small container so it is easy access and use the makeup brush to apply all over the parts you just cleaned her at. When you are done, flip her over and repeat the process to her back.

The Orifices

The vagina, anus and mouth if used will require some added care. As the crotch is a high stress area, it is ideal if once a week you apply Nivea creme to the vagina and crotch as this contains mineral oil and quickly will be absorbed by the TPE. Mineral oil is what makes the TPE soft and elastic if it were to dry out then a rip or tear can appear so it is important to provide extra care to the vagina and crotch. Leave the Nivea creme for approximately 6 hours for it to be absorbed onto the skin. For better protection you can apply Nivea every time you use the orifices.

TPE Rehydration

Once a month it is recommended to hydrate the entire doll with mineral oil to keep the doll factory new. Similar to washing your doll you apply baby oil on the front half of the body and wait approx 2 hours for absorption and flip the doll over and repeat. Be sure to remove baby powder first before oiling her body. Vaseline can be used under high stress areas such as the arm pits, crotch and vagina but requires approx. 12 hours for absorption. Vaseline and Nivea creme has a higher mineral oil content than baby oil. For hydrating the entire body, baby oil is the proper choice.

Using Lube

You may find this surprising but it is now unnecessary to use water based lubrication for sexual intercourse with your doll. It is safe to use Vaseline or baby oil for lube alternative.

Fixed Vaginas

If your doll has a built in vagina then it is trickier to clean but you will need an aquarium pump to air the cavity out completely. Life size dolls do weigh more than you think so I highly recommend you always buy a insert model as this is the simple way of cleaning after use. Looking at the exterior of both a fixed and insert vagina there is no difference.

If you follow the simple steps in maintenance of your doll then you will find a long lasting product.
I highly endorse this method of cleaning.

Vaseline vs. water based lubricant....which one is better? I never thought of using Vaseline before.
