Anyone who's interested in this doll is probably fully aware of the problems and risks involved in purchasing one so i won't go into that here....i'll just deal with the actual ownership and usage factors.
Negative stuff first - because there's more of it.
Having watched the rapid progress of other manufacturer's work on this forum and the efforts most of them make in quality control, Mechadoll are sadly lacking by comparison.
Some of Emily's joints were loose immediately upon opening the crate and inspecting her, in particular her left arm and the rotational aspect of both legs. Conversely, her head was so stiff i couldn't turn it left or right at all at first...it has since loosened slightly as has her arm further still.
Her face was another area of sloppy quality control. Her lipstick looks like it was applied by a blind chimp during a power outage - some of it misses her lips altogether and is on her face directly above the upper lip. Likewise her left eyebrow was mashed and bent and one eye has different amounts of eyeshadow than the other. The sloppy makeup is fixable of course, but when you've just spent $9,500 on a toy you expect it to be painted properly. I emailed Mechadoll France about it and..you guessed it...no reply.
Another problem is her head - even now that i can turn it left and right - only turns about 45 degrees then is pulled back to about 30 degrees by the restriction of the joint...very annoying for posing purposes. I'm hoping it may still be part of the loosening of the head bolt process....
I chose the larger breasted model, and even though they are immense fun to play with, i wish i'd gone for the smaller option as getting clothes to fit would be much easier and more natural looking.
Finally, the weight. She is so bloody heavy that aside from having her sit in a chair or on the sofa, she is impossible to pose without a hoist - not always because of me struggling to lift her, but she tends to collapse under her own weight if not supported - even in the most basic of positions.
Now the good bits:
She's gorgeous. For me, the design of the Mechadolls are still the most realistic - Yves Becker seems to have nailed the proportion of head to body - making the realism that much more intense......so much so, that whenever i walk back into the room where she is, my immediate, subconscious reaction is that there's a RG sitting there, and when i snap back to reality and realize it's just a doll, i sit and stare at her in amazement....for hours.
The hanging device they supply you with supports her from the centre above her head.....making her upright stance much straighter and natural than others i've seen - which also makes for more realistic photography. Although she's still afflicted with that "....been riding a horse for three weeks" leg position they all seem to have when on a stand.
Her skin is glorious, and with a little powder is so realistic and an absolute thrill to touch. Some folks here aren't fans of the textured skin of the Mechadolls, but for me the texture adds to the realism both visually because of the absence of shine, and to the touch senses.
The sex factor is difficult for me to rate as Emily is my first doll, but, after an initial learning curve during which i was missing my target by so much i nearly rodgered the cat by mistake, i got the hang of it. She is fairly tight vaginally speaking, but i believe that will lessen over time. Orally she was extremely accommodating from the get go, and once i'd stopped embarrassing myself with thoughts of "Why the hell am i doing this to a 100lb slab of silicone with a wig on?" running through my head, i had immense fun with her. Again, the weight is a problem here too - my situation doesn't allow for the involvement of a bed, so i'm forced to improvise positions, and aside from laying flat on the floor (not very comfortable) i have to use the hoist to get her into the correct position for nooky. Her legs spread as wide is i'll ever need them to, and during sex, her boobs are soft enough to create a very realistic bouncing motion in rythmic harmony to each thrust.
The "Jiggly Butt" thing Mechadoll brag about is kind of true; she has pleasantly soft buttocks, but during sex, i think my butt is jiggling alot more than hers.
So there you go, fantastic design (to me,) superb realism but crap finishing and even worse customer relations from the manufacturer.
I'd mentioned previously that i was planning a new photoshoot last weekend. Unfortunately, i'd only managed a couple of preliminary test shots when i was...er, interrupted.
