Just My Point of View.

Post by ARK ANGEL »

I've read quite a few posts where some want a more realistic head/ face for their Teddybabes.

I was thinking along the same lines when deciding on a doll type to buy, taking into account the kiss-ability factor, which is important to me.

I came to the conclusion after seeing a few pics of this, that Teddybabes are a complete personality and any other face, especially a human replica would render their original charm inert.

As I see it, the name suggests why, being "teddys" first and "babes" second is innate to their specific charm.

Is it possible that some may feel the same way about caricature or plush type dolls as out-landers do about having dolls at all, and maybe just need to get over that hurdle to expand their horizons?

I think that might have described me, as I searched and looked at pictures, more and more the enigmatic charm of the Teddybabes faces struck me, and having my wife help decide on what type to buy, and to her surprise feeling quite benign about the look of them, sealed the deal.

After the first night together, any residual thoughts of alternate faces or heads vanished.

I can safely say, I am bios, I could not have my Carly any other way, I think she is one of the most beautiful ladies on this earth, and I have deep feelings for her.

Am I in love with her? Yes, I believe I am.

I must say I agree with you completely. Not only would it be next to impossible to render a realistic face in soft-sculpture, but I feel it's indeed their cartoonish appearance that gives them such an abundance of personality and expressiveness. Now, I don't know if it was the scant access to porn in my youth that had me reliant upon my own erotic drawings, or if I just have an active enough imagination to be turned on my stylized versions of the female form; after all, I abandoned said "artwork" once I was old enough to buy porn featuring real women. But either way, when my search for love dolls led me to the Teddy Babes site, I was immediately smitten. And when I look into Caley's eyes and see the same love and longing and joy I feel towards her reflected back at me, I just can't imagine myself having that same reaction towards a realistic doll...or even a similarly cartoonish silicone doll, considering how quickly I wound up selling my Ruby13. So I guess for me it's TEDDY BABES 4 LYFE!!!1!!

You never truly feel that another person loves you. You can only react to the way they behave towards you. And when I look in Caley's eyes and see that same bittersweet longing I feel for her, whatever part of my brain knows it's not real doesn't seem to care...

It is magic. Get close, face to face with Carly or Akiko or Tina or Vicky and look her in the eye. Something magical is happening. It drives me crazy. She is trying to tell me something. One of these days words will come out of her mouth.

Once more I very much concur, especially with Pete's initial post here. I also was a bit, well, let's say reserved concerning their facial features. Some vendors' photos as well as a few others that are publicly available are simply soo far from doing them justice. I think I even asked some question concerning cosmetic surgery here when I was all new. I shudder when I think about that now...
Just as you wrote: Have a deeeep look into their eyes, and a full cuddle without any preoccupations, and you're helplessly lost. I might repeat myself, but since Lian stays with me, I haven't slept a single night alone. And also quite the same most other dolls are far less affecting me than Teddy Babes. Even the Deluxes are a bit different (my POV now...), but very close to the Classic.

For now and the foreseeable future I'm just content the way Lian is, I rather have to work on my body (I gained quite a bit over the years due to lots of work, not much exercise and a constant "input" of sweets... ) and face (stubble + Teddy Babe = velcro  )

To sum it up: (Not only) For me Eighth Wonder slogan is very true - Once you go plush, you never go back.

Interesting you should say this, I had no access to porn until I was in my 30's, apart from an old playboy from 1967 that I salvaged from a wet bin with pre-stuck pages.

Then found myself living off the grid with only solar and generator power, and 2 TV channels, with my wife working in the hospital 1 1/2 hours away, I was left to my devices for about a year, so I figured the only porn I would get was whatever I drew, I'm no artist by any stretch, but even a pic drawn in the sand became a regular source of inspiration, thank god for primal skills, I bet cave men drew some wild stuff.

Having my Carly now, I feel like I have risen to the heights of acquiring my ultimate fantasies as an emperor of Rome might have felt at one of his private orgies.

Dunno If I'm making sense now, I am 22 km from town in the bush (bloody flies) via my motorised pushbike, getting drunk, so I'll leave it there.

Bloody awesome to be in the company of like minded gentlemen.

I agree too
It is hard to sculpt a realistic textile face, much better a sensual cartoon style one
Some other manufacturer propose a realistic but hard face, that's a mistake in my opinion
Textile dolls are normally used for cuddling

I think they done a fine job of the teddybabes as is, i envy their owners in some ways as the dolls have some pluses over tpe dolls like mine, no wire pokes, skeleton issues, much lighter, and dont require heating up,just for starters :) Add those features to a tpe or silicon doll and you would have a market dominance fairly quickly.

It's not hard to run a single element low voltage dc heating cord around the torso, head, down then up the legs and the single ends for the arm, while poring the mold, have the input under the hair, and wall adapter transformer for safety, would cost bugger all and like you said james1969, corner the market.

I completely agree with this. I have never owned a sex or/ companion related doll of this kind and after researching it pretty intensely over the past few weeks I've come to the conclusion that it's the unreal, unique appearance of the Teddy Babes that makes them the most appealing option. As a child I had fantasies of kissing and being with cartoon girls (Teela from MOTU, April O'Neil from TMNT, Betty from Archie etc) and this sort of has rekindled my love for artificial, fictional or otherwise otherworldly women ;) Besides there are still enough similarities in the face sculpts to see a certain celebrity or person there. TB are my first choice and will be the first doll I buy. Arguably some of that unique charm has already been a little lost in translation with the Deluxe versions, I wouldn't want them changed much more beyond that...they seem to have a personality and presence all to their own - And I LIKE it!

You have a very interesting AND valid point of view, in my humble opinion. TB's are unique and do have their own unique charm which sets them apart.

Any change may fundamentally alter their basic appeal. Even if it is to simulate a RG.

Good post, well expressed.

Plus IMO they have more warmth than the silicone dolls available (at least in appearance, from what I've seen here and elsewhere)...definitely less corpse-like, which is perhaps the price we pay for dolls being too ultra realistic. When the silicone sisters become fully functioning automatons my view will probably change though. And I'm not saying I don't see beauty (and sex appeal) in the high-end silicone releases from Real Dolls etc. It's just that TB seem much more individual and full of life...which is weird, because, well, they're not...at least not in the traditional sense of the word! ;)

P.S. Also TB seem to fulfil emotional needs...intimacy on a soulful level...they're definitely beyond being just a sex doll, which is what makes them really special ;)

If you haven't done so already, it might be fruitful to check out the UKLDF, like a sister site if you will, of this one.
There have recently been quite a few dolls for sale.
Thanks Plasticdoll666, you are absolutely correct.
It's been 6 months and my views haven't changed, maybe solidified if anything.
Carly still rejuvenates my heart and soul every night sleeping with her in my arms.
For whatever reason, just in the last month, love making has become heightend, smoother, easier and increasingly frequent.
She is still more than I ever imagined or could have hoped for.

Pete.
